There is talk of them closing up the vee angle. And it makes pefect sense. A 90 deg v is a fucking long engine and hard to place correctly in the frame.

The whole sad saga has gotta be THE worst PR nightmare ever for them.

Probably some penis believer from the F1 field that convinced them to do the whole CF mono cock (see what I did there) thing in the first place.

If Rossi's abilities are so OMG! awesome, then he should be able to get out there on anything and win.

There are examples of lesser machines being "superior" when operated by certain individuals.
Let's hope his performance is better this year than last, eh?

Nope. Quite enjoy Stoner's riding. Just not in the Rossi-fanboi club though.

Gee I'd say anyone that can race a GP machine to within 110% of a lap record has 'OMG! awesome' abilities. Wouldn't you? Then add to that 9 world championships...

I don't idolise Rossi, but then I don't deny the fact he is one of the greatest racers we've seen ever.

Yep no denying the facts, Stoner probably has the most chance of matching Rossi's achievements, but he's got a long way to go....
You can only make a bike go fast to a point, if the bike is incapable no matter what the skill level of the rider then you aren't going to win!
If Rossi or Hayden etc can't get it to the front then its the bike at fault, not a fading star as people seem so quick to point out!
Stoner could ride the previous iteration Ducati, but its a vastly different bike since then and Honda and Yamaha have both moved on incredibly!
Someone mentioned that Lorenzo was 2 secs a lap quicker on this years bike at Qatar! Thats a big leap!
If the Honda/Yamaha had stayed the same then the Duk would be capable of a win!

    !
Stoner will never match Rossi's unreal 9 titles. He never came through the 125/250 ranks with factory equipment, and his first year on the 990 was only satelite equipment also. He then wasted three years on an uncompetitive pile of shit.

Had he had full factory/competitive equipment his whole career, things may have been quite different. But 'may' means fuck all in the real world.

I'm just glad I've been around to see Stoner in action. Most hair raising mofo I've ever watched.

So he has set a new lap record? 110% means he has exceeded the previous setting.
    On a Ducati?

    Yes, he certainly has abilities.

The Ducati move has certainly removed a lot of Rossi's aura I reckon. Bit Like Tiger Woods when he got caught out.

Within 110%. The way I've always understood that (and it is a commonly used term when talking about qualifying lap times) is say for example if a lap is completed with 50 seconds, then the cut off would be 55 seconds. Now if I've misunderstood that, no dramas, but I think you know what I was getting at. If you don't then no problems either, Rossi (and anyone currently competing or has competed in the premier class) has as you so cutely put it 'OMG! awesome' abilities. To say otherwise shows total ignorance of what it takes to get to the top of MotoGP.

I tend to agree Crasher. Shame really. When you are at the top, there is usually only one way to go. Especially as you age. Just ask the likes of Sampras and Federer in tennis or any outstanding athlete in their field. Made even more tricky when it is a team sport like motorsport is.
