People will always make judgements on others based on appearance, its up to you if you choose to be offended or not.

My tattoos and various piercings may be a part of me, but they do not define who I am.
Surely, if your appearance is what you have chosen, as opposed to what you were born like, then it does define who you are? Are you not making a statement about yourself and your tastes much the same way as the way you dress and groom yourself? Difference with tats of course is that you can't take them off and change them in the same way.

Are you saying that how you dress defines who you are Ed?

    How incredibly shallow of you.

    Well said Ed.
This is absolutely correct. If you choose a certain way to dress then it is you who has chosen that way, due to who you are and how you see yourself. This is also how others see you. It doesn't make you a good or bad person, it just portrays you more as a certain type of person, be that flamboyant, rebelious, strong, weak or whatever the case maybe.
It is definately not the person who looks at you that has the issue. That is how anyone who chooses to dress differently escapes from blame.

Why did you start the thread Ed? You seem obsessed with what other people think. What is your statement about you and your tastes, based on your clothing?

so when you wear leather....are you saying that you like a bit of kinky....that you want to protect yourself from a slide down the road....or that you want to be one of the wild ones? Because older people like Ed would have you believe that you are trying to portray an image and an older persons view might be that you want to be a Hells Angel if dressed in leather....

I believe the opening post explained it quite well? I like to know other people's views on many topics. Obsessed? Hardly! Natural curiosity and a desire to uinderstand my fellowman? Yes.

You're clearly as stupid as Ed.

While there may be a very few people who attempt to define themselves by what they wear, I would suggest that for the vast majority of people clothing choice is based primarily on function.

I consider what a person says or does as being far more definitive of who they might be.

Forget the "fellowman" bit and do your own shit in life. Leave others alone to enjoy theirs without asking them to justify what they do to themselves, that is their choice.

Understand my fellowman Gezzzz ! why would you bother unless you were bored shitless. you would need ten more life times then another ten and be know further ahead to understand your fellowman
