Tsk, tsking you may be at this vision, but: I am now 36 and still love that tattoo and what it represents to me. It could do with recolouring, but it is still beautiful.
Then tat number two came along, highly criticised, about 8 years ago. Once again, why on earth would I care who says what about it. It is deeply personal and I am still happy with it.
And two years ago, I got tat number three which covers most of my lower back (as some of you already know) and works with tat number two.
The whole thing symbolizes my family tree with my husband and my two children. The most powerful and important influences in my life, the ones who keep me grounded on a daily basis. Hell, I am proud to have this etched into my skin because it means this much to me, and if anyone ever considers it anything else than the beautiful display of love that it is, well they can resoundly kiss my tattooed backside and take exit left without saying goodbye.
Not every young person is stupid enough to not know what consequences are. Just sayin'

I'm glad you found a way to express your feelings...

What most non inked people feel is that a certain percentage of inked people think that these 'expressions' are somehow superior to other peoples methods of expressing themselves. I supposes its a bit like painters thinking sculptors are a bunch of pussies...

If it suits you thats swell.... But I'm not hearing the music myself and don't consider it a handicap.

I never got tattoo's till I was in my 30's, what I have are extremely personal, while in my youth friends were covering themselves in what looked like pointless scribble and pictures (I thought) just wasn't my scene.

I'll get more, my story's not finished. Not at all bothered what I'll look like in my old age, nor what people think of them, as it's my journey and, if we're talking art for some, all art is subjective.

    Very personal,

    Don't care what others think.

But still need to explain it anyway,

    Something smells fishy around here

I think its personal choice after say the age of 18 or 20, before that should be up to the parent & what....where the tatt is.
I only got my first tatt in August this year, got 3 now & wish i had done it years back.

Cheap is not necessarily a good recommendation (I'm not saying this guy's not that good - his pictures show his work) but generally good tattooist and tattooed people will tell you that you get what you pay for (like bikes and women really) ... and I've seen cheap and nasty work heaps of times ... so be a little wary of cheap ...

i thought the same thing, i didn't care about price, hes just cheap cause he works from home in his little tattoo parlor he has set up, probably doesn't pay tax on some of his work hence the cheapness ;p

Everyone changes, of that there is no doubt, but for some its good to remember that time/place with a tattoo.
    I do agree

Can you recommend anyone good in the EBOP? The 3 artists I've used have all moved on now, and I'm looking for some more work.
    Keep on chooglin'
