    I finally finished thread locking and duck taping my scooter together... so if it makes it to BP with out falling apart all should be fine..

    Looks like there might be a Caltex in Otorohanga, about 15 km north of Te Kuiti. That's at least what Google maps says.

    The ride is at your own pace. While there is leaders and TEC if you want to stop off for gas you can (just don't take your sweet time ) then just carry on. As long as you know where the next meeting point is, they aren't far apart so it shouldn't be an issue. I'm sure someone more familiar with the route might stop with you as well if you ask nicely. You will ride right past the Caltex through Otorohanga and there's plenty of pumps there so it shouldn't be a detour anyway.
