Has no-one watched Alien or Bladerunner?
The Lost Planet with the invisible monster terrified me when I was a kid.

Flesh Gordon?
It straddles two genres.

One of my favourite authors is John Dalmas and his Regiment series. Those would make for great movies...

Other cheese worth a watch is Starship Troopers 1.

Aliens alternates at my #1 all time best movie, ever spot. Bladerunner never gets tired. Scott has his eye on The Forever War. He does Sci-fi pretty well yeah? I loved the newest Bladerunner box set update.
Harrison Ford does Sci-Fi so well perhaps because he doesn't really wanna be there....

I am a fan of the old lost in space tv series. Likewise where Serenity was a over-budget flop its predessor Firefly (tv series) was fantastic.
Can't remember any others from the past. But I used to love reading those books of artists designs of space-craft (from 60's-70's)
Reactor Online. Sensors Online. Weapons Online. All Systems Nominal.
Not really into the older stuff, the lack of effects for a futuristic movies just feels a bit off.
Watched the new Battle Star Galactica series again not long ago, it's good, though I preferred Caprica; which unfortunately nobody else did so it go shitcannedSame with Terra Nova. SG-1 is about the oldest sci-fi I was into.

Cargo was pretty damn good even if the entire thing was in German/French/Whatever.
Another good one is Pandorum. I also highly rate that new Judge Dredd reboot.

Caprica was great, especially once the gangsters started going all by your command on the place![]()
Pandorum was great. I loved Cargo - has sent me on a search for other quality foreign Sci-Fi. (There's not a lot!).
Judge Dredd was good, but like The Dark Knight Returns, there wasn't enough Dredd doing what Dredd does best. Dredd felt like a bit of a side character at times. Also, the budget showed it's teeth when they decided to film in low tech in the mega-block. I'd love to see Mega-City One done properly as it's one of the richest sci-fi environments. Isn't Lena Hedley coming into her own?
