    Scary movies

I watched The Woman in Black last night. Bloody hell it was scary. Nothing you haven’t seen before, just a really creepy tale and location. Recommended.

Another good one was The Awakening.

Anyone seen any good scary movies lately?

The Justin Beiber movie... Fuck that was some scary shit! couldn't even make it past the opening scene

In more seriousness If you haven't seen it I quite liked Rose Red (mini series) from Stephen King. In-fact alot of his are decent, scariness depends on tolerance but I always find "suspense thrillers" to be much more entertaining than "horror" which as mentioned has become a genre of gore, just trying to freak people out by excessive amounts of bad special effect blood, torture, & guts

"TT3D - Closer to the Edge".

Fucking terrifying, had me on the edge of my seat...

If you like scary movies, check out "The Cabin in the Woods" - not what you think. Not really my favourite genre though so I don't have much else to contribute... interested to see what others suggest.

Those TT guys are seriously crazy. I just can't even being to imagine how much bike control they have. Someone posted a tank slapper link from the TT which was as scary as any movie.

The Body wasn't too bad. Weird naked Zombie chick movie.

One film I saw recently I couldn't believe I'd never seen before was "The Changeling" from 1980. C-r-e-e-p-y.

Gazillions of years ago we used to go watch the "midnight horrors" at the Christchurch suburban theatres. Usually the same old "bug-eyed monster from outer space" genre which was anything but scary.

    Howsumever.

One night we saw a thing (forgotten the title) about a family of kids whose sick mother finally died (no father anywhere round) so the kids became orphans. Rather than get sent to institutions, they hid the fact of her death and kept up the pretence that mum was still sick at home. Buried her in the garden.

From there it got very disturbing as the kids gradually got weirder and weirder. Wonderful cinematography, very atmospheric, excellent scary soundtrack and a very bleak plot line. Walked home that night with the hair on the head creeping...

Only genuinely scary movie I ever saw.

I love scarey movies and horror .. from Hammer Horror, to Dario Argento, to Stephen King (brilliant writer ...)

This is the ONLY movie that has ever scared me ...

The first Paranormal Activity reminded me why I hate those movies. Tame as fuck, but when going back to a creeky house with thumping going on every 5 seconds does not make for a peaceful nights sleep. I only went coz my son wanted to go... ahhh for the days when we used to go to watch comedy's.
    I didn't think!!! I experimented!!!
