Nothing beats a moped for getting around town, you can ride on the footpath, you can even park on the footpath right outside the bank. Try that on a Harley.

1. If said scooter rider cuts off a rider on a ER-5 ... it is socially acceptable for the ER-5 rider to be pissed off.
2. If it happens to said ER-5 rider twice in one week ... it is socially acceptable for that scooter rider to call that ER-5 rider a NOOB ... to his (her ??) face.

I was most surprisedthat a scroter wasn't knocked off the road on Saturday...
Nth Western Motorway heading west. One cheap-shit 50cc scroter (blue) in the right hand lane, screaming to keep up around 70kmh.
The chap in the bighorn 4x4 was one metre off of said scroter's arse and appeared QUITE ready to get scroter bug-splatter on his windshield and in his tyre tread.
Why do scroterists' feel the need to be in the fast lane? Seriously?

When your only gear is top gear, where else would you ride, but the ' fast ' lane.
I have owned a few scooters amongst my 28 bikes over the years, and cant see any practical use for a two wheeler that only does 60kph. Even sitting on 80-90ks on the open road, I still cruise along the shoulder, and have never had any problems with traffic.

Whats the legality of scooters in the cycle lane?
Had an incidence of three trying to push me off the road (I was on a push bike). Nearly went back to get my bike and see if I could find them and 'talk' it over.
I mean, apart from the obvious part where they were dangerously close and being somewhat aggressive...
cyclist lanes are for non motorised transport
so even the push bikes with motors are not supposed to use them
heaps on them as the north western motorway in AKL has a cycle lane that 50cc scooters use as they are not alloud on the motor way
