Stumbled across this today.

Amount of work that has gone into this is incredible, guy has pretty much built everything by hand, started off teaching himself how to tig.

Mere pocket change for you academics. You could use it as a cornerstone for a program to get disaffected rural yoof into tertiary education and apply for funding.

Yeah maybe ... if I did what you suggest I'd have to let the disaffected youf ride it .. there's no way that's going to happen ...

Depends how you structure the program. Likely they'd all drop out before you got to the riding part anyway. Then the course gets shut down as a failure, and the bike stays in storage until you offer to take it off their hands for a donation to the social club.
