As much as we'd all love to see the kids prove Darwin's theory by running each other over, restrictions and Osh regulations etc apply. Would you really like to see a bunch of people allowed to use a skid pad with noone there to put out potential fires, or to stop them running over people etc? As much as certain people are a waste of DNA, they are human beings, and as such are accorded certain rights.

I kinda agree with you on the better driver bit though. It doesnt have to be drifting suburban streets, but driving a car at speed, and handling loss of control, be it on grass, snow, or wet roads does teach you a thing or two about car control.

Problem is they are killing and maiming innocent bystanders and stealing their cars too, as in Auckland yesterday where three of them crashed the stolen Subaru Legacy so hard into a house the house was moved off its foundations! The 16 year old driver was killed, the others are in hospital in serious condition. It was fortunate that the occupants weren't home and in bed in the room they smashed.

I have fostered a few boi racers.
For your information my wife is a news paper editor.

OSH etc... can fuck off. What they don't seem to understand is that this is happening on the streets, which would highlight that OSH etc... is being ignored. So why not let them kill each other. I have no problem with it. Fucksake I can park my car in a car park and there's a sign that says car left at own risk, so I have no issue with those hell bent on killing themselves doing just that with absolutely no safety regulations whatsoever.

What rights are they accorded? To kill themselves as long as there are safety precautions in place. If it's a choice between unsupervised on the street or unsupervised away from those who wish not to see them, hear them, nor have the inconvenience of having to clean up after their mess, then which would you prefer?
