Since he was worried that something like this (or the discovery of the affair) could end his career, there should be concern that he could be blackmailed into doing things he shouldn't that could harm the city and its citizens, such as influencing the approval of questionable building projects, endorsing questionable businesses, obstructing the duties of council employees, abuse of official priviledges (anyone remember the issue of his mis-use of his work credit card?), etc.

It is true, that what he does in private is his concern. If he chooses to sleep with a Helen Clark mask on, that is no concern of ours. It's odd or eccentric, but harmless... But those who live in this city and are affected by his policies and decisions should question when he poses a detrimental impact on those closest to him - in other words, if he can cheat on and lie to those love him, what would he do to those he does not know or care about (i.e. Auckland's residents).

Big business already owns local and national (and Nazional) government. this is a bit of embarrassment for them: they have invested in damaged goods already. Sky City and its foreign overlords and Huawei and the offshore oil drillers are disappointed in Lenny boy.

Just another example of how too many men think with the wrong head. It is natural to be attracted to someone you work with if they are nice, but it's another thing to cultivate that attraction.
