More pointing to the fact that you don't think windows has been influenced by Linux over the years.....it has.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_PowerShell is one example I can think of - off the top of my head. But I am sure there are 100's of others.

my wife , who can barely operate an Iphone can use linux. ( ubuntu 12.04 ) , she can even swap between desktops, languages , not an ounce of a problem.

haven't ever paid for windows. They are not Pirate copies either. Managed to get XP and 7 for free because I was silly enough to be a student. All I am saying is that Linux has been acting up more in the last 6 months than windows has for years. And viruses? You gotta be pretty dumb to get those on any OS these days.

Latest issue is I can't download Gnome Connection Manager I blame Linux for this

Have you tried the software centre , i just did and it was fine Havent and dont need any virus filter. And ya have to admit ya were a student to get ms for free. Last time I heard it was 200 odd dollars ...

I like my money ...and I not to keen on giving it away when I can do the same Job for free ...

GCM is what workmate uses and it looks fine to me. I can't find it in the software center though. Can only find Grcm.

i never said that M$ hadn't stolen open source code, rebranded it and shipped it as closed.

the analogy would be having a dictionary and a blonde on your desk, sure, you might have more fun with the blonde, but the precense of the dictionary has no impact on her, and is ultimately, more useful to have on your desk.

It's not windows or *ux. They both work fine. It's the GCSB installing stuff in the background to fuck your shit up and keep a brother down.

I was red flagged for a month on the ubuntu forum for complaining about the problems, esp wireless dongles etc and bluetooth ( which is terrible on pretty much all the linux iso )

It was a friggen kiwi and all
