It's OK guys we'll wait for ya![]()
Almost the dumbest thread I've ever seen here on KB.
To actually ask what the highest speed attained by other riders on a public forum and expect serious answers is dumb as!
104KPH ( not that I agree with the reasoning or invoking of this unreasonable irresponsible piece of garbage masquerading as a good idea) is the only sane answer for road riding folks.
Whatever speed attained on a race track, closed road is safe to repeat but hells bells Op you've got to be kidding, don't you?????
When did car manufacturers fix their 10% speedo reading inaccuracy problem?
You see, if they haven't and I'm sure they haven't, then the arbitrary setting of a fine based system at 104 is senseless, oh wait, callous, calculated revenue gathering above and beyond any pretext of safety.
Educate all new drivers properly, give them instructor based teaching one on one for many hours before giving them anything like a licence. All road conditions riding/driving, skid control, institutional awareness, fear of being caught doing something stupid that will remove your licence and see you starting all over again from scratch. This sort of time and effort will virtually eradicate the dickhead drivers from our roads and most of us can then get on and enjoy our motoring/riding in comparative safety.

Yep, Smoke, you are right. They are the ones we shoot!
Every day above ground is a good day!:
i have had 300km on the clock on public road and it was all completely legal even past an ambulance with its lights on and he was doing 160km this was all legal, only one place you can do that in the world.

Yes, it can be done. I have a freind that doesn't own any kind of vehicle at all. He is lucky enough to live near the train line but even then he relies heavily on colleagues going his way to get to and from work. He also uses taxis a lot.
Not everyone is physically able to cycle.
With reference to Switzerland, I was talking not just about about within cities but also between them. You could get a ride on a post bus to even the smallest, most remote town on a daily basis IIRC (it was at least weekly).

Shit, there are so many wanking on about how any illegal speed is so dangerous that we're all gonna die if someone speeds.
For the record my best effort is 271 on the R6.
Couldn't quite make 160 on the ninja
About 170 on the DR, all indicated as I can't mount my phone on the bike to read my GPS.
I have topped out every vehicle I have ever owned and will likely continue to do so, all on public roads but always in areas with good visibility and usually when there is noone around at all.
230 on the clock, then my zipper burst and the wind caught my foreskin forcing it back over my helmet so I had to slow down to see.
