From what I'm hearing through others with kids at school, they're gonna miss out on pen & paper, cursive & to Hitchers horror, grammar.

Hmmm, I went through the New Zealand primary school system in the 1980s and High School in the 1990s. I wasn't the most attentive student but I don't think we ever got past Verb, Noun, Adjective. It wasn't until I tried to learn other languages and teach English that I realised how little I knew about English grammar, and I went to a grammar school too ironically.
I wonder when that did stop being taught? Perhaps in the late 70s?

You really should teach your kids the facts of life.
How to spell
LOL, Soz, LMFAO, ......... WTF !!!
Other than that, I think my children are growing up in a fast changing and quite exciting world.
As a parent I can't complain if my child is sitting inside playing Xbox - who bought them the Xbox? I did. My Xbox, my rules.
Don't complain because your kid just plays on his iPod all day. Get your own lazy arse up and do stuff with them.
Give them some memories of their own. They won't realise it at the time but they will later in life.
I remember scratchy records and bull rush but today's youth will have their own nostalgic memories of their time growing up.
I'm excited about what they have in their future, not what they may have missed out on in my past.
(I hope I haven't made any spelling mistakes, otherwise it would make my first sentence a little embarrassing)

Pulling apart old farm junk in the back of the shed and sometimes just sometimes getting some thing going.
Sticking an old mower motor on a push cart and finding out that 30mph is a bad idea without brakes.
Being shown by Dad how to use a lathe and how to weld.
Being shown by by Grandad how to use a ham radio.
Being left alone but having parents who took an interest in what I did.
Analogue TV, analogue phones, analogue music.
Being able to fix a car-tv-music player with basic hand tools.
Not throwing away devices because they were broken, not being supported or last years model.
Just another leather clad Tinkerbell.
The Wanker on the Fucking Harley is going for a ride!
