Already discussed, if using a separate lane, it's legal in NZ.

This sad little tale is just further verification of the fact that there are a lot of head cases driving around out there. Best not antagonise them, they may have forgotten to take their meds. A shame I'm not allowed to take my .45 though.

yup I fully accept that it was wrong if me to flip him off and as an afterthought, he was already moving into my lane before I flipped him, so the flip made him really swerve hard into my lane and try to pinch me.

so it was maybe the flip that caused him to make the aggressive maneuver, maybe. who knows he could very well have done it anyway, we will never know

I wouldn't listen to half the choir boys on here man. Only on KB would you find a bunch of people saying you went to far pulling the fingers at some dude deliberately trying to use his vehicle to intimidate or hurt you (this was the reason you flipped him off from your account even. You made that clear in the first post (along with the fact there was more than one lane, some people are just a bit special)).

There are more than a few who would adjust the glass on their vehicle (or face) for that crap. I'd probably just shit my tighty whities, but each to their own eh

It's a legal term in a lot of countries - you can be charged with undertaking another vehicle. Overtaking on the inside is different to undertaking a vehicle.
In which countries specifically is it a legal term?
And I don't mean a term in law referring to what an undertaker does.
That wiki page is pretty shoddy with very little in the references provided to back up what it claims and none to back up the use of the term "undertaking".

Get over it mate, it's a very commonly used term that everyone understands.

Oh, that's fuckin' great - now when someone posts something that may or may not be correct I can't question it or ask for citations without someone replying with "get over it mate".
I thought that this was a forum, you know, for discussing stuff.

Undertaking is a common enough term, maybe you hadn't heard it before, but it was explained.

To go on and on about it is not "discussing", it is "nagging".

It's not illegal to give the finger... It is however to use a vehicle as an offensive weapon.

Some people actually obey the speed limit you know, and motorcycles are dangerous.

I travel the same road daily and there's some real dicks who cant handle being passed by a more nimble vehicle... My current issue is with a white XR6 falcon ute with a white hard cover on the deck. Watch out for him, he'll swerve at you as you come alongside when legally overtaking (not crossing centre line) Haven't got his rego yet but it'll keep. Other guys have has issues with this same idiot.

Big or expensive cars usually equate to small body parts and big insecurities. The finger always seems to set them off. Wonder if its because the finger is bigger?

Just get past and forget about it. Agreed he was dangerous for doing what he did. Ring up his boss and complain about the driving - or drunken swerving. At the end of the day if they don't wanna be passed, they shoudln't fuck about.

Many years ago when i first lived in Wellington i got a job on a construction site as a hammer hand one day in a big hurry to get home and planng on using a hammer n nails over the weekend i simply left my tool belt on chucked my swanni on and jumped onboard my old TT500,sitting at a set of lights i was almost knocked off the thing by a guy and his 2 mates in a Holden ute,i turned around to see them laughing it up so sidestand down and off the bike pulled out the Estwing and set about smashing the guys windscreen which resulted in the cunt driving screaming like a bitch bit of topic but the road rage thing reminded me of it.
