Just spoke to Shrek and surgery went well by all accounts and he sounds upbeat so all is as good as it can be considering i guess.Cant imagine Kathy will leave him in charge of the paper work for to long so expect her to be home asap. She only needs one arm to use a whip.

hi guys saw Kathy, she sleep most of the day.... I got there last night just after 8pm, & only stayed a short time.... she said she felt wet so checked for her & found that the catheter was leaking, so she said for me to ring the nurse, so I pressed the buzzer 3 times but it did not work, Kathy said not that one the other one, it was the pain relief they had changed the buttons... so after about 20 minutes it was time to go,

went back in about 10 this morning & she was rested a looking good, so we played with her new laptop (so the accounts get done) lol... then left her to sleep about 1130

Kathy is feeling better than expected as they only plated the femur as her right arm had set well so they left it alone
also found the ankle was not broken after taking more x-rays so the prayers are working well, & her right ankle is also healing well & they will put a moon boot on later next week so that she can weight bear on it

she is in "ward 3 B" between 2m & 8pm, please keep the visits short & no more than two at a time, & no food of any sort " these are Kathy's wishers please respect them"

Kathy sends her love & thanks for all the prayers, best wishers & offers of help xoxoxo

gave lotsa for all, then a few from me

    cheers
    Shrek

Fantastic news Shrek, sounds like the outcome, although not brilliant, is better than first thought.
You will no doubt be in charge of dishing out lots of TLC over the next wee while.
Our best wishes remain with Kathie.

will let you know more later
for those that are trying to work out how, why etc...

Kathy has hit small rocks about the size of golf balls on the corner which caused the bike to start fish tailing & then target fixation took over just before she hit the barrier.... she was traveling between 80 & 85 kph ..... she hit the barrier near the road marker peg..... & one of her mates pointed out that she hadn't put barrier cream on that morning

Hard to see the pics from my phone, but looks like a gentle bend. I'm glad I have a bit of back ground in off road riding. Certainly helps learning to control a bike on some surprise gravel.

Tough lesson to learn but it looks like she has learnt rather than another KB member who will proclaim this crash was unavoidable....
