There is a guy I know pretty well. He has worked his arse off for years to get a high flying prestige project management job, huge hours , huge time away , huge sacrifice for him & the family.
Chucked it in, he's suffering from depression, left the wife & kids to try & put himself back together
Sometimes the place you think you want to be is not the place you actually should be.

Sad but true, many of these people we do not here about, as they are not world famous in the media loop

He didn't tire of it "soon" he started when he was 6. 20 years of bullshit and self-sacrifice is enough for anyone.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

From what I recall Mamola had a clause in his contract that Suzuki could not sign Crosby. Don't know if that's 100% accurate, but that was what was reported at the time.
    I still don't like Mamola.

As for Stoner, he had a very effective psychological approach for any one race. Beyond that he had nothing. He hated everything about GPs excapt the racing itself, and that was entirely his own fault.

If you read his book it becomes apparent that he had a very isolated upbringing and never got on with anybody much outside his immediate family.

He probably left at the right time, I don't feel he could be any more competitive with Marquez than any of the rest of the field. It's a shame we'll probably never know...

I can't find the link but Spies put the pair of them ahead of anyone else . When Rossi or Lorenzo went passed he could understand what they were doing. When Stoner & MM went by he had no idea how they did it
He thought Stoner was ultimately faster but MM was better in mixing it up
I've always thought Stoner was the fastest rider we have seen for some time but not necessarily the best racer
Never really understood the hate thing, he's not the first prickly unapproachable arsehole world champ we've seen
Think Doohan, Hulme wasn't nick named the bear because he was cuddly.

Don't think we'll get to see the real Stoner in any media publication, nor does it matter to me. All that I will add is the guy said it like he saw it and left the sport on his terms, he earns my respect for that.

Lol. And the others don't? How's Cruthlows comments this season? Swapping tyre brands mid season ring any bells too? He's a huge loss to the sport, and never seeing him go head to head with MM is one of the worst bits.
