    .... went hunting for a better grill for the fire. The one that was there (while adequate) would let too much of the burnt wood through, thus loosing the heat needed to keep it roaring. A mate down there gave us a bbq grill that he no longer uses, works a treat.

    Went home last weekend, 32 days at work without a brake was a bit tough and sighting Mangakino at around 4:30 last Friday was indeed a great feeling.
    Lit the fire at about 9:30 and sat outside with a Gin in hand, hard to beat the sound of crackling wood on a chilly night.
    Cooked breakfast every morning, way better than the usual three weet-bix! Followed by an hour or so walk around the village in 2 degs.

    Twenty days to go then we're back home for four days

    Cripes weren't you two lucky, nearly had a large ( 20 bikes, would sorted out the neighbourhood,lol. ) contingent of fatties gatecrashing on Saturday arvo. Had wrong phone with me so couldn't ring to find out if you was Inn or not.
