    Second fiddle obviously He's Ringo........

    Mike Costin who, on learning of his friend's death, described himself as having "studied for 40 years at the University of Duckworth".

    "Duckworthisms" became renowned throughout the racing and engineering worlds.
    These included: "It is better to be un-informed than ill-informed";
    "a genius can make for a penny what a good engineer can only make for 10p";
    "very few straight answers are ever possible:
    the decisive man is a simple-minded man".
    He based job interviews on the principle that "young fools go on to become old fools".

    An oldie which has relevance to those following the ESE engineering thread...

    In 1914 Louis Coatalen (Sunbeam designer) in reply to a comment by Pomeroy Senior (Vauxhall designer) that his racing engines were devilish like the previous year's Peugeots said "Ah, Pomeroy, 'ee ees a vise man who copy wizout altair".

    Speaking of Ringo, apparently John Lennon said of him,
    "He's not even the best drummer in the band"

    “You may not be her first, her last, or her only. She loved before she may love again. But if she loves you now, what else matters? She's not perfect—you aren't either, and the two of you may never be perfect together but if she can make you laugh, cause you to think twice, and admit to being human and making mistakes, hold onto her and give her the most you can. She may not be thinking about you every second of the day, but she will give you a part of her that she knows you can break—her heart. So don't hurt her, don't change her, don't analyze and don't expect more than she can give. Smile when she makes you happy, let her know when she makes you mad, and miss her when she's not there.”
    ― Bob Marley

    “Live for yourself and you will live in vain;
    Live for others, and you will live again.”
    ― Bob Marley

    “The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively”
    ― Bob Marley

    “If she's amazing, she won't be easy. If she's easy, she won't be amazing. If she's worth it, you wont give up. If you give up, you're not worthy. ... Truth is, everybody is going to hurt you; you just gotta find the ones worth suffering for.”
    ― Bob Marley

    The best one I have heard recently was Bob Hannah when asked what he misses the most about MX racing. 'Getting paid for not doing much' was the answer.

    Everytime i see chite on the telly involving the Taliban or Afghanistan reminds of a quote in book i read years back that stuck in my head, that unfortunately seems to be ringing true.

    "The Taliban, I learned, have a saying: 'You may have the watches, but we have the time."

    AFL commentator Gerard Healy, after referring, live on air, to the Gold Coast Suns as the "Gold Cunts": "I always thought Karmichael Hunt was going to be the trap for commentators, but for me it was a combination of 'coast' and 'suns'."
    If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?
