People who work for a living? I've had plenty of pay increases of late anyway...

So in short; inflation, continues. There endeth the lesson.
My wage aint gone up this year, it hardly went up last year & definitely no-where near enough to cover the increases in power, feed, mortgage, insurance etc
Minimum wage? Don't know not on it but I'm pretty sure that hasn't changed
Benefits? again don't know not on one, but I don't think that's changed either

In short 'inflation' just seems to be a fancy word for "increasing prices faster than your pay"

    Are you trying hard enough?

Simply trying harder is a fallacy - watch the blowfly on the window pane - no matter how hard it tries it isn't going anywhere! he will eventually die there!

Try smarter - knowledge is key - if is not working for you change direction try something else - TRY ANYTHING!

Keeping on doing the same thing expecting a different result is like a death sentence! - check out any windowsill for all the evidence you need!

Food - pretty much the same without it we die and stealing gets us in trouble - so a consumer item that is a need first than a want
    Drink - see food
Transport - see above - needed in todays times and I doubt anyone could walk from Papatoetoe to the CBD for work...well they could but would not get there in time
Education - see above - needed in todays times as no one is actually training the young ones anymore...again it is a need first and then a want
Housing, transport and education aren't retail spending. And I'm not sure food is either.

And none of the above represents discretionary spending, so what's your point?

    B. Peeps spend because they must, the car is dead, the roof needs to be fixed, the dentist is needed for some fillings.
    C. Peeps spend because they feel miserable and want to feel better....so a new pair of shoes or a new bike.
    d. peeps spend on rent, food, clothes to be sensible, education to get a better job and health care to keep those teeth.
If "peeps" are spending for any other reason than they have the money to do so then they deserve all of the "bad luck" that comes their way.

I'm pretty sure you'll find that "peeps" spend money on retail (read: from discretionary income) because they have the money to do so.

Which is exactly the short term solution that likely resulted in them failing to earn what they want in the first place. Idiots.

And the businesses that go under would be exactly those that make their living from people who don't earn what they spend. In other words borrowed money.

    Excellent. Next problem?

Nice bunch of cherries you got there.

In fact inflation is now lower than it's been for almost a generation, decades. We're expected to have DEflation next month. And while the individual doesn't have much control over that it does mean that whatever income he does have buys him more. So you're wrong, on average "peeps" have more buying power, not less.

What the individual does have some control over is how productive they are. And I promise you that of all the different traits that influence how much income "peeps" make that's the single most effective way to do so.

Bitching about how someone else isn't making it for you isn't on the list.

It's not in the same book.

Bullshit. There's always been a hard core bunch of doomsayers hell bent on the theory that someone else is responsible for their income, (usually the lack of it). They seem to make more noise, if at all possible when times are good.

The facts are that across the board the standard of living here and in most places has never been better.

    Get a grip, chicken little.

I think that's the problem... I am trying & I'm good at what I do; Seems everyone experiencing the "rockstardom" are the useless cunts making sure their words are louder than action as they're pretty good at the former, fucking useless at the latter.
Needless to say I'm not good with my words ... Well not in the "right way" anyways

    Not yet. Darwin's on leave.

Normal service will be resumed when he returns.

Which is scheduled right after some connection between value and reward has been re-established.

    The Blind
Consider them, my soul, they are a fright!
    Like mannequins, vaguely ridiculous,
    Peculiar, terrible somnambulists,
Beaming - who can say where - their eyes of night.
These orbs, in which a spark is never seen,
As if in looking far and wide stay raised
On high; they never seem to cast their gaze
Down to the street, head hung, as in a dream.
Thus they traverse the blackness of their days,
Kin to the silence of eternity.
o city! while you laugh and roar and play,
Mad with your lusts to point of cruelty,
Look at me! dragging, dazed more than their kind.
What in the Skies can these men hope to find?
