How much more wrong about a bloke could you possibly be? You're a bit of a tool yourself to be perfectly honest.

Do you need to try a new laxative?

GS has adjustable ride height in two ways already. Seat has two settings, and if fitted with ESA that also affects the rear ride height. Then you have other seats available...

I think I knew that, but I was proposing using the same actuators for an auto-squat function. For those afflicted with duck's disease.

Your one would be an inch higher than mine out of the box being an A, but they're not difficult to ride for being tall.
They look worse than they are until you get on them, a bit like a Rocket 3 in a completely different way.

Dunno what the shorties could complain about

Yep, once on the move, they have excellent handling, weight down low etc. I can do around 8-10kph, uphill, 2up before I'm reaching for the clutch to control...

That is style in the extreme. Almost wish I was short so I could perfect that technique.

Aye, I've done a fair few Ks on an A, but you miss the point: There doesn't have to be a pressing need for an engineer to "improve" shit.

BMW dealers are a strange breed by my findings... I'd just attended the GS Experience run over in Melbourne and decided to go see the dealer in the CBD that had put the event on. I explained I'd been to the event and started talking about the bikes I'd ridden. After only 2 minutes he was looking at other staff whilst I was talking to him, and any input from him became limited to 2 or 3 words. Indeed I had been dismissed.

I went and chatted with another BMW dealer in the upper Nth Island over Christmas (one that I won't name) as I'm planning on moving to the region this year. Asked about planned rides, places to ride off road etc... What I got was how hard is to do bike events in the weekend and run a store, that bikes 24x7 is extremely tiring and he finds it really tough... !? I left feeling decidedly flat and tired myself.

OTOH I test rode an F800GS from Motomart in Lower Hutt late last year and that couldn't have gone better. 1 out of 3 ain't bad I guess.

When it comes to riding though, their bigger 1200 bikes seem to be reverse engineered with Tardis componentry. The do appear huge on the outside but disappear once moving... weird.

Haven't got that on your own. Pulled up outside the Hamilton BMW/Ducati dealer a week or two back, never got a "Hello, how can I help". Two salespeople stayed at their desks. After a few minutes I got the distinct impression that I was cluttering up their show room floor and left. Went across the road to Boyds Suzuki and talked bikes with them for a good 1/2hr. I'm going back there next week to have a serious look at a bike.

Boyds are BMW Suzuki & KTM, but not sure who this BMW Ducati outfit is.
I have never experienced better or more personable service from such a happy & involved team of enthusiasts as what I got at Boyds. I doubt there would be a better place in NZ to buy a new BMW.
