The problem is that western philosophy can show not direct and necessary link between what we think we know about the world, and what the world may actually be like in reality ... as the article points out, this seems sophomoric .. however it is a deep issue for western philosophy ... Western knowledge can be based on a 'use value' .. but that is not the same a 'truth' ...

So, what is 'ultimate reality' ??? Who the hell knows ...

Interesting notion, but its been around for a few years (so nothing new) - from memory the key rebuttal to the philosophical debate was that the notion of Death in a Computer simulation is redundant and how does the simulation account for human reproduction.
