Yep, H1Rs, or hot-rodded piston-port H1s ( reed valved are different story) - not so much..

Well we'll never agree on that one sorry. And for the record, a customer of mine from back in the day at Boyle Kawasaki had (and may well still have) an H1R. So sorry mate, you'd be wrong.

Croz beat John Woodley's RG 500 around Bathurst on the KR 750, in that `79 Aus G.P. at Bathurst..

    Likely not
I still remember the first argument we had Pete, You remember the one where you swore black and blue Glenn Williams never raced a 883. Do you remember what you said when I posted the results when he finished second in the series.
I also note you never corrected yourself on Rainey. Just saying

Glenn Williams did real good on an H2.. his racing experience doing that - probably helped at the I.o.M. too..

Which Glenn Williams are you referring to? And Rainey? Nothing to correct sorry mate. He cut his teeth on flattrack racing, and made his name and honed his skills on larger four strokes. Won many many super bike races before going to 500's. Just like I said... But you just hang on to that lil thread mate. But hey...I didn't know what an H1R was either!

    Glenn Williams the first one
But what you said was a H1R wasn't like a 500GP bike when that's what it was like because that is what it was. like it or not

Rainey as I have said and even posted pictures of him doing so raced a year in Europe in 1984 on 250 GP bikes for Kenny Roberts he then went back to the US for 3 or 4 years, before going back to 500GPs

Wrong.. Road race-wise, Wayne Rainey got the Kawasaki superbike gig - after winning enough on their KR 250 GP bike..

Think I do remember seeing him in pics on the tandem twins sorry! Thought it was onle Eddie that rode them. But I also think you and old Husahandle are actually missing my original point. But it's fucking hard having an argument with a guy that obviously keeps a little black book titled *the naughty KB'ers I've had arguments with over the years* by his bedside eh!
