Nah, I think you're thinking of Peter Blackwood. Gregory Yamaha gave his race bikes to Slighty after he was killed. He was killed racing a dirt track event in the Wairarapa...was Slightys very good mate too. Was a really dusty event, he went down at the front and was collected from another rider that couldn't see him. Check with Husaloser though eh. He'll google it for ya.

I remember him winning one title, then doing a year on a FZ750, then a year on the FZR1000. Then moving on to overseas racing. So 84 street racing, 85 250 title, 86 FZ750, 88 Fzr1000 and some time in 89 off on the start of his overseas career - So yeah, one title - hmmm, just like those stats said. Go figure
