$150 for a job like that seems cheap.
Is this guy on KB?
How anyone can think a retail business can survive long-term in such a small market without a high standard of ethics is beyond me. Same as the dickheads that believe retailers are creaming it, total fucking fantasy.
Welly's a small town eh, Pete?
send me his key.
this story could only be better if the cops turn up investigating a complaint about a stolen key . . .
That'll be happening. Thought I'd give him the chance first to do the right thing.
Aye.
Aye.
Plod would do FA. Pity though.
They certainly are. And mr X was told this by me when he was all nice to me.
Just fair. I'm thinking so, going by the things he said to me when trying to get me to convince Mark to give him a free battery.
Sure is. And we (in the industry) all get on well.
You mean the one on his spare key ring that looks like it has a garage/house key on it?
If you don't have an account with debt collector, there will be a setup fee, then they'll take a cut of the retrieved sum... much better to try and sort yourself first, but yes, lodged on record and can cause issues, but I'd do it for more than just $150.
Surely that bike is new enough for the ECU to need registered keys etc? In which he's just lost a valuable key...
Anyway, I'd lodge with cops. You have address etc, should be an easy job. Property remains yours until purchased...

I very much doubt the cops would get involved, they will consider it a civil case. Whereas if he walked out with the battery under his arm, that would be theft.
Go round to his house (with his key) retrieve your battery, leave bike without battery.
Physics; Thou art a cruel, heartless Bitch-of-a-Mistress
Make about 10 copies of his house key, print up some business cards with his address offering free beds, meals, showers.
Go out on the town tonight and hand them out to Blanket mans chums.
Do the bike shops share a list of customers like this?
Maybe they need a reverse of the "no cowboys" style of website; for the crappy customers.
Measure once, cut twice. Practice makes perfect.
