He will have to make a new front end, alter his steering head rake, alter his trail, change his shocks, more the engine forward by 20mm, put a smaller diameter tyre on the front, and larger on the rear, increase the size of his steering dampener, lower his handlebars, ballast the main fairing, move his instrument cluster forward, move his fuel tank further forward, move his battery forward, move his kneelers further forward, move his seat forward - then have to modify his brake and gear levers, move his radiator forward, move his oil cooler forward, move his sidewheel forward, then alter his sidewheel castor and wheel width, then move the passenger deck forward, and finally.... lengthen his chain.......

    Did I miss anything???

He might be out for a season, but he'll get it right.....
Just roll the whole bike forward 60mm & check the geometry again, it will save a lot of re engineering.

Since the bulk of my bulk is behind the chair middle, I'd end up at the same height as a solo rider to get the required effect. We have jacked it up at the back with the new swinging arm.

Another full rebuild of the whole chair is futile. It's pretty good as an entry level chair, so we'll do a season and move it along and get something better.

When that thing is on song, you'll not wanna get rid of it.
You'll be surprised with how competitive it is, but how sore it is to race at 100% - but your body will remind ya of that anyways......

What about less pre load on front shocks with stronger springs instead

There are a hundred things we could do, and would given the right motivation. But we just had an argument today about how far we should go with the improvements.

So we're gonna get it reliable, race it, and see if we can find something better.

I did the same with the bus years ago, ran without a fairing, then put it back on. Was faster with it on.
It never made an iota of difference to the handling, but the ergonomics were greatly improved.

A way to test it is at the drags.
Okay so can anyone explain how Kevin Wendt's sidecar went so well with out a fairing? was it his riding style or would it have gone better with one on it?
