Got given a bike with no WOF and no reg as a courtesy bike

Every time I see one of those vehicles I think... better avoid it. Of course, some could be the victim... but some aren't

Even Victims are a bit of a worry.....A good friend has been the victim of 3 crashes now and is a shocker behind the wheel all nervous slow and over to the left when cars are coming(2 crashes were head on when the other car was corner cutting).Like a form of PTSD aye.

I hear ya. Mum rolled her car onto the beach after hitting unmarked gravel/repairs or something on the way home to Akaroa a good few years back and has been a shit driver ever since. She used to love dropping the hammer on SH75 for years without incident (well, bar the beach one ) and now she gets so nervous sometimes she gives way to people halfway around a roundabout.

Yep, have mentioned if they booked (well, were meant to have booked) him one, then they should've had one for sure. But we all make mistakes, and at least they still gave him one. Yeah, not having it wof'ed etc is a balls up. But seriously...is it worth slagging the poor cunts off here? I certainly don't think so. It's certainly not something I'd ever do. And when I drop my ute off for work, I always arrange my own way home/back to work/ back to pick it up. I'm just a total cunt.

The one and only time I had a loaner was last century. I had bought an XR500 from (coincidently) Cycle Spot. It blew up within a week so they took it into the workshop to check it out and loaned me an old beat up GS or CB 350 (or summat like that, can't remember the exact model) until the next day. I was heading west along Krd and did a right onto (I think) Albert st when some cunt in an
on coming car did a right turn across my path. I t boned him just in front of his front wheel and ended up on his bonnet looking right at him. I called him a cunt and a few other things, he said he was sorry, I told him to get fucked. Cops said it was his fault. Broke my scaphoid and it still hurts today.
Cycle Spot weren't too happy about it but I think they got over it....

My Mum dropped her car in at the panel-beaters a while back (someone had assumed that she wasn't going to stop at a stop sign and gone into the back of her).
The next day, she finished work and went back to the courtesy car to find it parked 20m further up Great North Road! Turned out someone had "fallen asleep" while drunk and high and driven into 5 cars.

Never stopped getting shit from the panel beaters for 2 rear ends in a week.

Checked the 'Busa into CycleSpot today for its service. No loan bikes available. "No worries - the boys in sales will sort you out with something."

Rock upstairs and the sales dude goes "Oh, got a brand new CBR300 you might like" sees me cry inside and goes "just kidding, let's choose you something fun."

Gives me an Aprilla Dessiduro 1200 - mean!

Can't say I'm very impressed. I know I should check it out but the salesman game me the keys to a bike in his showroom. I assumed his paperwork was up to date...

The dealer didn't "forget" to attach a D plate. He forgot to get his paperwork in order, and for a long time at that.

In any case, a D plate doesn't cover a courtesy bike. Sure, the guy might have said "just say you're on a test ride" if you get pulled over and I would have been "no worrie".

I wouldn't be "crying my eyes out not to get a bike" but I would be annoyed. I had booked the service 2 weeks in advance and also booked a loan bike as I needed to get to work. Come the service, "oh shit, we're out of loaners - no worries, sales will sort you out with something".

I booked the service (and loaner) a fortnight in advance.
