No evidence non ionising radiation is harmful. Plenty of evidence that alchohol is harmful. Do try and keep up with the rest of the scientific community.

Distracting from what? It was my original point that you so gleefully jumped on. Do you still think your wifi router is doing you more harm than that bottle of booze?

quote me where i said that.

quote also where anyone other than you has said the words "non/ionising radiation"

quote also where alcohol became relevant to smart meters.

Rf also fuck up your cells. But most people bathe in it every day. Fact is, the ghz frequencies havent been in use long enough to observe any impacts (presumably negative) on any population.

Probably no worse than having another cellphone/wifi router bolted to your wall.
Afaik, they operate as a mesh network for reporting back to teh co, burst transmissions once or twice a day.

Big brother is watching. They can now get a closer reading on whats plugged in during what hours, inductive or resistive loads, etc. To what use this meta data goes......
"RF fucks your cells up". Except it doesn't because it's non ionising radiation . That's the difference between non ionising radiation and ionising radiation. One fucks your cells and dna up the other doesn't. I used alchohol as a comparison because some people chug down litres of the stuff on a daily basis but panic about a cellphone tower over the street or a wifi router under the bed.

You mean like quote you as above? Do you think RF "fucks up" your cells? And I mentioned ionising radiation as you don't seem to know the difference between harmful and harmless radiation.

The fuss about smart meters is they are more complicated than is needed for mere billing purposes and have an inbuilt ability to control WHEN you have electricity for a specific device.
Imagine a future when some green nutters get control of the govt and restrict electric use for various reasons.
Perhaps there is a generation shortfall due to excessive demand from electric car recharging, the system will prioritise consumers usage. It will decide NO you cant use your tig welder to fix your bike frame the night before a race meet as your hipster neighbour needs to recharge his prius.
It will decide NO your stereo will not operate after 1am and the sub woofer disabled from 9pm onwards etc........
Eventually perhaps there will be real time billing and leaving the lights on will literally be dollars pouring through the floorboards.
There' have been a few stories out of the states 9bigge rpopulation) of these things causing fires too.

You have to ask why/how can your power company afford to install thes expensive meters with there own cell connections... when there was a system in place that was already 99% effective.

Our house was one of the first ones here to have one just by luck.... no issues yet...

A bit paranoid don't you think? It isn't connected in such a way that it can control specific devices. Merely whatever circuits it is attached to, turn off your hot water yes, but turn off your stereo without turning off your entire house, not happening.
    Yeah, nah.

know how ethernet over power works?

How smart are your smart devices?
    For your convinience, of course.

Yeah you still won't answer a direct question.

It's probably handy for them to be able to shed load remotely in a more controlled manner and bring things back online gradually after a blackout. Easier ways to get access to an internet connected device than through the power lines.
