eek Handling road rage car vs bike

So a biker lane splits and offends a driver, who then proceeds to chase him down the road and attempts to side-swipe the biker multiple times.

    Video only:

So what would you do if you were in this situation?

    1. Drop a gear and disappear
    2. pull over or take a side street
    3. Shoot the crazy fruitbar

Video with additional commentary (not the rider) :

    If I wasn't armed - opt 1
If I was - opt 3 - Pretty sure the US classes using a car to try and attack someone as assault with a deadly weapon, so using deadly force to defend oneself would be justified.

Did anyone actually watch that first video in its entirety? Fuck me, it was like squeezing a testicle is a bench vice, slowly.

The car driver was clearly an absolute nutjob and was likely provoked in some way. I'd like to think I'd have pulled over and spoken to the driver in a calm and rational manner. If an apology was warranted I'd offer one. If all that failed and he still wanted to cause me physical harm I'd look to cause irreversible and significant damage to at least one of his eyeballs using my thumb and forefingers and whatever sharp objects might be readily available at the time.

Many US states have enacted so-called stand your ground laws that remove the duty to retreat before using force in self-defense. Florida passed the first such law in 2005, generally allowing people to stand their ground instead of retreating if they reasonably believe doing so will "prevent death or great bodily harm."

This took place in Florida, so option 3 would be legal.

I stopped watching a third through.

I was not impressed at the lane splitting speed - probably what wound up the car driver.

The red car guy obviously has some serious issues. Nut job for sure. Probably has a chode.

When the bike started riding on the wrong side of the road into oncoming traffic at speed I turned off.

Taking a friggen side road and get the hell out of there.

Not watched as I've seen too much of this stuff in news lately and here.

But first we should stop using the term road rage, whats really happening in any RR situation is someone throws their toys out of the cot and behaves in an intimidatory mannor or even full on assault.
I NEED my license for my job so I cant even think about being involved in a situation like this. My response is too ignore other peoples tantrums and if they escalate it from their then its a police job but never gone their yet.
There is NO legal defence for threatening behaviour or straight out assault so don't send yourself to jail for someone elses bad driving.

Dumb shit happens all the time on the roads, so often that its not even exciting or interesting anymore. Don't let someone else dumb shit screw up your day, just let it go.....

This is a bit old. Both of them were arrested and shared a prison van together.

Vote for Trump, he is going to fix everything.

Simple question: why did Nellie the elephant leave the circus with Trump?

I'd go with the avoid the whole situation option, if someone wants to be a retard and take exception to someone on a bike filtering to the front and having absolutely no effect on his progress towards his destination, let them go and carry on with your day.

This is in america after all, where donald trump has been nominated as a presidential candidate, that fact alone is an indication of the number of retards loose in general population that you might encounter.
