You can kill two birds with one stone by buying the Harley Davidson. Then you'll have your very own cruiser and boat all in one.
I would say 2 bikes. One for commuting and touring like a f650gs and the other totally impractical but very fast like an rs250.
I'd be happy with those two in my garage.
Close enough to HDC's selection.
For me, I don't have the history or much interest in track racing or proper sprots bikes. So the SDR does me just fine as a general weekend hooligan option.
And it's a good enough touring option that I can't see any point in a separate sprots/tourier.
I has the 525 for dirt stuff, and I can't imagine anything more suitable, but then I'm not using it much. So much as I like it, if the idea of a wish list presupposes that you're going to use them it's probably on borrowed time.
I can't think of anything less enjoyable to ride on or off road than any machine I've ever seen designed to do both. "Aventure" isn't a motorcycle sub-category, it's a motorcycle super-category. Although now that I come to think about it perhaps there's a valid definition lurking somewhere in the use of something completely inappropriate...
I'd like a trials machine, old or new, more for a mobile excercycle than any pretense of actual competition trials.
And then, of course, once the trials bike has made me all fit and bounce-proof again I might actually use a VMX of some old 4T type.
So I guess the list changes occasionally, no?
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon
I got a trials bike a couple of years ago. Now I feel a lot more confident on my 93 CRM. I break it rather than it breaking me.
My wee journey inspired my mate to get a trials bike, too. Now his PE 400 X is almost ready to ride again. The new reeds just arrived last week and he's looking for a torque wrench. You're very prescient.
Speaking of the old ball and chain earlier in the thread...... The next bike in the shed will be for the missus. She has gained her full licence on a 2t, I think it's time for something with more cylinders and more strokes. MT09 maybe. I'm sure she would like it.
Which reminds me. Apparently there is TDR 250 in bits down the road to be had for a song..... Yeah, the list changes. Like the weather.
Manopausal.
I always find it amusing (that's the nicest word I could come up with, others came to mind) when 250cc motorcycle owners attempt to make fun of Harley Davidsons. Me? I've never ridden one, but I've been in situations where I've struggled to keep up with a Harley being ridden by a bloke who would never diss a 250cc motorcycle simply for the sake of flexing his cock.
As you were.
I was just taking the piss. Not actually serious. Only thing I don't like about Harley Davidson is that they are usually really loud. I have ridden a 650 Boulevard single cylinder before and I actually liked it. Lots of torque compared to the nugget 250's I've owned. Burnt my leg though on the exhaust.

Hey, everyone's entitled to their opinion and I'm not going to suggest than anyone take KB seriously. Take a moment to consider though that jumping on the "take the piss out of Harley Davidson" bandwagon has the potential to make one look like a twat in the eyes of some. It's a bit like not all Honda riders are homos, it's only something like 89%.
Unless a bike is being overly-optimistically listed for sale I reckon let the beauty of the bike be in the beholder. Except Bimota Mantra's, they're gay as fuck and should be killed with fire.
I reckon you would have to be. Apparently it was stolen and recovered, still a runner, then left to languish. Somebody had a tutu with it and got it running but half dismantled the bike in the process so bits of it are buried under junk in the shed it calls home. The owner of the shed had an idea to use the motor in a go kart. I don't think that eventuated. It's the yellow and black colour scheme so I'm told. The best one.

I think owning two rides is enough for me, I already struggle to walk past the Fat Bob, its so easy to throw a leg over and an absolute joy to ride whether town or country. The sidecar gives me the same stupid grin and even more waves from people I don't know, easy enough to unhook the chair and still have people commenting on my old Triumph Bonneville, lol. They seem gob smacked when you explain that its a modern Japanese look alike, can not wait till its finished and road legal, been lucky so far.
I have the little Suzy 4x4 for beach and off road
