Congressman Nunes (R CA) and Chairman of the Select Committee on Intelligence, wants an inquiry into the inquiry into the Russian connection. Nunes though is not impartial, he was a member of Trump's transition team.

    You lost me there.

To an extent we are all predisposed to take notice of conspiracy theories, it's an evolutionary thing. Most people though can sort the wheat from the chaff but some people are unable to. There is an identifiable pattern of behaviour and there are a couple hereabout who exhibit that behaviour strongly. They can be occasionally annoying but as long as they aren't hurting anybody it's not as if they require treatment. Yet.

That's where you seem to struggle.

Everything looks like chaff to you.

Pretty sure as a direct result of some conspiracy (that may or may not involve shape shifting lizards) it was merged with another thread and removed to PD.

So the Republicans "didn't have the numbers" to get Obamacare repealed.
Funny when you control both Houses. Maybe they'd been listening to constituents ?

On the basis that Trump is predicting Obamacare's immenent "explosion", I forsee a bright future for Obamacare.
    He hasn't been right yet...

Kind of Odd Obama managed without both.
Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said that he turns on the TV and opens the newspapers and sees “stories of chaos” but the truth is that “it is the exact opposite.”
“Chaos? There’s zero chaos,” Trump said. “We are running — this is a fine-tuned machine.”
He continued: “We have made incredible progress. I don’t think there’s ever been a president elected who in this short period of time has done what we’ve done.”
The president blamed what he called the hatred of the media for obscuring his accomplishments.
“The press has become so dishonest. The press is out of control. The tone is such hatred,” Trump said. “Tomorrow, they will say, ‘Donald Trump rants and raves.’ I’m not ranting and raving. I’m just telling you. You’re dishonest people.”

Trump's campaign website noted the promise in clear terms, saying, "On day one of the Trump Administration, we will ask Congress to immediately deliver a full repeal of Obamacare."
At a speech in St. Augustine, Florida on Oct. 24, he vowed to repeal the current health care law as a part of his "contract with the American voter."
"It's a set of promises for what I'll do in my first 100 days. It includes getting rid of immediately Obamacare, which is a disaster," said Trump.
Then, just a week before the election in early November, Trump tied the success of a health care effort to his party's ability to maintain the majority in the House and Senate, which the GOP was able to accomplish.
“When we win on November 8th and elect a Republican Congress, we will be able to immediately repeal and replace Obamacare -- have to do it," said Trump, who also added,
"Obamacare has to be replaced and we will do it and we will do it very, very quickly."
A campaign press release on the speech doubled down on the promise in its title: "Donald J. Trump pledges to immediately repeal and replace Obamacare."
Trump additionally tweeted his intention to take action on health care at the start of his presidency as far back as February 2016 when he wrote, "We will immediately repeal and replace ObamaCare - and nobody can do that like me. We will save $'s and have much better healthcare!"
    Yet now today
Following the collapse of the Republican-backed American Health Care Act this afternoon, President Donald Trump appeared to backtrack on his long-held stance that President Obama's signature legislation, the Affordable Care Act, should be repealed and replaced "immediately."
“I never said -- I guess I'm here, what, 64 days? I never said repeal and replace Obamacare -- you've all heard my speeches -- I never said repeal it and replace it within 64 days," said Trump in the Oval Office Friday. "I have a long time.”

Farcical. The Republicans voted nearly 70 times to repeal the ACA while Obama was President. Now they have the Presidency, the House, and the Senate and they are able to vote 0 times.

Some were going to vote no because they were afraid of what would happen to their cozy seat if their constituents lost their insurance cover. Most though were going to vote no because they think money should not be spent on healthcare but on a tax cut for themselves.

I don't like politicians generally but we are spared the totally cynical and selfish fuckups that inhabit the US system.
A baby in the womb is sacred and inviolate. As soon as it's outa there? Fuck it, it's on its own.
