It seems that my Scandinavian cousins had a good party recently, and by the
comments from a number of western sources, Trident Juncture 2018 in Finland
was "great success" (or was it Sacha Baron Cohen who said that?).
Anyway, it sounds like the Russians (even though uninvited) may have managed
to help the allies make the exercise a little more realistic.

It's as well allied aircraft didn't stray into Russian airspace as a result. Just
imagine the drama that would have caused. And the newspaper headlines in
the NY Times:
"Russian Radar lures Allied Aircraft into Russian Air Space to use for
Missile Target Practice".
Though I think there may still be a small navigation problem present, with
all the Scandinavian countries currently pulling to the right, instead of
traditionally staying down the centre.
That Norwegian frigate must surely be a case in point. At first, I thought
they may have overdone "stealth mode" (build the vessel with a low profile
designed to evade detection by radar), but I think from the latest photos
we can safely say it was a simple navigation error.

I did hear (from anonymous sources) that with all the shipping traffic
envisaged in the Arctic Circle in the future, the Allies were considering
taking "stealth" to the next level and deploying military vessels looking
exactly like oil tankers.
Not only have they proven themselves to be more robust (case in point
above), but it will become increasingly harder to tell which vessels are
military and which are not.
The Russians will never see that one coming (until it's too late, of course).

Just realised that if you Google the search string, you can find and read the article. But
if you save the link after reading it (with intention of reading it again), then subsequently
click on the saved link, then FT instead directs you to their subscription page.

Global Warming is a bit of a misnomer .. It's Climate ChangeTake your pick.
Warmer air means more water evaporation - so more clouds in the sky . these will in some places, block the sun and be cooler underneath - and more rain .. more rain - more floods - we can see that happening.
It means more energy in the atmosphere - so higher wind speeds .. that's why the hurricanes crossing the Atlantic and slamming into the US are getting stronger ..
That's why we are seeing more tornadoes on Godzone .. more energy and changes creating the conditions where they develop.
To think that the planet is simply getting warmer is to misunderstand Climate Change and what will really happen.
