Traditional left/right voters don't think what they are really voting for anyway - just supporting the same old club that they think they belong to? - -

I disagree - look at the shifts in the UK - Labour has abandoned the Working Class in favor of University educated Middle Class Socialists. The Working Classes don't want Socialism and so they voted Tory - in some cases for the first time ever.

IMO it comes down to a number of key principles and so long as either party doesn't violate them, then the Party faithful will keep voting for them.

Don't you realise yet that left/right voters, party personnel, and policies are "INTERCHANGEABLE"! - They are one in the same - they all get the same result! -

    Some are, Some aren't.

Cases in point are Brexit and Trump.

Both of which can be seen as a revolt against the typical political dynamics.

Now, I'll agree that the Right Wing of recent times looks eerily similar to the left wing of 30 years ago and that there aren't many principled conservatives left, but that is not to say they don't exist.

However, I'll agree that the functionaries of Government (aka the Civil Service) have cultivated a particular viewpoint and atmosphere which has had a direct impact on some of the Policy changes, however a look to what is happening in the UK with Priti Patel vs the Civil Service and the discussion about the TV licence shows that people are fed-up with the 'interchangeability' of the Policies as you put it.

An interesting article - the Author comes close to articulating the problem, then falls down the well of far-left nonsense.

So, what do you think the actual problem is (assuming that the author "came close" to articulating it.

And if you could also just point out for me where is this "well of far left nonsense" (so that I don't accidentally trip and fall down it), that would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Maybe the same (club?) that destroyed the Roman Empire is currently controlling the destruction of the American Empire - as they did with all who went before? (Where have all the Empires gone, long time passing?)

That the Democratic party is having a crisis of conscious, between it's blue-collar roots, it's radical middle-class, university educated activist wing and the Entrepreneurial Millionaires/Billionaires that tend to end up as Candidates.

It holds multiple, fundamentally contradictory views and cannot reconcile them. You've got Bernie who was all 'Millionaires and Billionaires are bad!' - until it was pointed out that he was a Millionaire, now it's 'Billionaires are bad!'.

You've got Bloomberg who quite literally bought himself a seat at the table.

    When the author states:

Today’s pro-One Percent media – CNN, MSNBC and The New York Times
All of which have a demonstrable left-leaning bias, that means the Author is so-far-left that he considers a left-lean to be 'right wing'

You've got rants about the Bourgeoisie (or in this case 'the one-five%'), declarations of 'Challenging the Economy's Structure' - which sounds awfully like calling for some form of significant change, one might even say a Revolution....

Further down, you've got the old slight-of-hand regarding Economics trying to conflate Social Democracies with a wholly Capitalist Economy with Socialism - that's when the hint of Marxism becomes and veritable stench. It's not only factually incorrect but in this case (given the Authors credentials), a deliberate deception.

I know what you are alluding to - but if I instead referred to 'unbounded Progressive Politics', then that same statement would hold true.
