It's actually not funny, the consequences for vaccine development could be quite serious.
Just so you can more of a laugh, the vaccine trials are carried out by third parties based in many different countries, including NZ. They don't know which shots are the vaccine or the placebo and the drug companies don't find out who participated. Normally the trials are carried out in stages, with an increasing number in each stage once it is established that any side effects are minor, or stopped if there is a serious problem.
