I'd be coming round if I could but I'll be in Tauranga this weekend. Between all the Newlands Elite Bucketeers you'll be ready to race next Sunday.

Yeah...know the feeling. I'm heading up to Palmerston tomorrow and then across to Masterton on Saturday.
Can't really do much until I get the chassis anyway.

Got the rolling chassis today, it arrived yesterday and I managed to convince a mate to go and collect it for me from the depot this morning.

Initial thoughts: It's choice, but the motor doesn't fit...looks like I might have to get the hammer out. The drum brake on the rear looks like it may need some attention too but I don't think it's too serious.

    Anyway, here are some pics:

It should do but doesn't quite....I can't slip the head past the top of the frame. I'm probably just going to bend the bottom part of the frame out to make it fit so it should be sweet.

Spent a bit of time on the bucket today...have managed to get the engine to fit in the frame. Had to hacksaw a bit off the frame and bend the lower front parts forward a bit.

The problem is that the mounting holes don't line up, they're not far off but it will need some adjusting. The pic attached shows the engine in place with a bolt through the top rear mount.

I also took the rear wheel off and cleaned up the brake drum and lubed the axle etc.

How's the sprocket alignment? (lateraly) and are you able to get the front sprocket closer to the swingarm pivot? Otherwise you can try to line up the three axis of the rr axle swing arm pivot and the c/shaft.
It doesn't look like you have too many other options from your photo. Sometimes you might get away with putting one engine bolt into the closest existing mount as a start point.
I hope you have a good selction of spacers or a lathe. A good selection of long bolts is good. PM me if you get stuck or need anything.
    Good luck!
