OK - quick rundown

SANSON ARFOR (SA): - Sanson Area Forecast.

ARFOR SA VALID 1700 TO 0200 UTC - Area Forecast Sanson valid 0500 (5am) to 1400 (2pm).

1000 28020 - Wind at 1000 feet amsl. 280 degrees true at 20 knots.

3000 28025 - Wind at 3000 feet amsl. 280 degs true at 25 knots.

5000 27030 ZERO - Wind at 5000 ft amsl. 270 degs true at 30 kts. Temperature zero degs celcius.

7000 27025 MS03 - Wind at 7000 ft amsl. 270 degs true at 25 kts. Temp minus 3 degs C.

10000 27020 MS05 Wind at 10000 ft amsl. 270 degs true at 20 kts. Temp minus 5 C.

FZL 5000FT. - Freezing level (0 degs C) is 5000 feet amsl = ice in cloud. Not that we should be in cloud, but if we were and we were at or above 5000 ft then the bikes would ice up

VIS 40KM, 7000M IN -SHRA. - Visibility is generally 40 kms, reducing to 7000 metres in light showers of rain.

CLD FEW AREAS BKN CUSC 2500 TOPS 7500. - Cloud. A few (small) areas of broken (lots) of cumulus and strato cumulus (low level lumpy and smooth cloud) with a base of 2500 feet amsl and tops of 7500 feet amsl.

WX FEW -SHRA THIS MORNING. = Weather. A few (a little bit) of light showers of rain this morning.

Hopefully that means that there wont be any this afternoon, but we'll have to wait for the next area forecast to find out.

Come down Napier road from the gorge, turn right at Ruahine St lights, keep going over the railway bridge to the 4 square lights. Turn left, that's Fairs Rd

I've just checked the latest on Palmy and Wangas. No mention of rain now, but a bit nippy. Still showers here though, but we should ride out of them further west. (I hope).

Reasonably enjoyable ride. Quite a few bikes out today. I know nothing about the shattered concrete post except maybe some offroader did it.
