Lol. I can just imagine NZ customs reactions.

Its nice, but Steyr have never been great at the .50cals. Barrett tends to be the superstar of that cal IMO.

I do like the steyr scout though. Thats a very nice rifle

It will be more like getting it out of the US. They have a law (one of the many) prohibiting the export of firearms over .5 caliber except to a foreign government on the approved list.

I like the idea of a 25mm AP round. That would even knock Colapop over!

Do you think you could get a mount for the VTR?

Are they're any caliber restrictions in the arms code? Certainly with a 5 shot mag semi that parts fine.

I'd imagine a letter form your local friendly Firearms officer will get it through customs.

I had a chat to customs officers when I was getting my G22. They gave alot of interesting info and say its not uncommon for people to import their own as it is cheaper. But you do need to work harder

There's no way I'd even try to bring stuff like this out of US - thats asking for trouble. If you have some contact with people some parts of Europe then it can be done. However, due to the nature of products such as these, it's highly illegal and you would be in the s#!t - bigtime !!
I know it's a US site but check this out http://www.snipercentral.com/

I think you will find that there is a restriction on calibers over .50 comming into NZ

Mate of mine had a major problem bringing in his .505 Gibbs

Can point you in the direction of Olerkon 20mm that only needs one small part manufactured to be in firing order.
