Cool. I'm normally home by 4pm. Might even be able to drag Connie out pillion. Doug the chap I ride with who has the Pantah 500 would probably be keen as well.

I will keep an eye on the Gissy thread though, cheers for the heads up. I employ Yod as my full time KB (and trademe) informant, but I might have to give him a paycut!

Yep, I'm taking Sarah up to the big AK on Friday morning. Stopping in Turangi on the way to see if I can find some stuff that I'll need for the big trips and stopping there on the way back to pick up those things when I'm one up again.

Not so organised as to actually give a departure time yet but it won't be too late. Gotta leave time for a couple of latte stops eh lol

If anyone wants to come along for some or all of the way then feel free to sign up. But being Friday I'm not expecting too much. Just hope the weather holds!

weather looks better for friday than it is now. wont be doing the alkd trip but could meet up somewhere on your way back. Yod is talking about a napier taupo run....... who knows.

never done the napier taupo road on two wheels so looking forward to it

It's a pretty good ride i reckon, takes considerable restraint not to let the speed creep up though.

You said it! Great bit of road. Always reckoned that it should be shut to traffic one day so that us bikers could have one decent blast over it. I'm picking less than 40mins...
