    Local elections - who's voted?

im curious to see who has voted for the local elections this week. especially in auckland it seems there are enough people whinging to suggest a huuuuge turnout but its looking like one of the lowest ever.

I have voted, and I hope ALL KBers in Central Otago have voted as well. It looks like I have a chance of being elected.

I did my whole votey thing and was really happy with my choices (as happy one can be when voting), put my voting paper in the envelope and then realise: DAMMIT!!! It's in the wrong way... long story short, I ended up tearing the envelope and then decided "Screw it" and it went in the bin.

If they send out another one I'll quite happily fill it out and hopefully put it in the envelope the right way

Yup. Voted. For the first time ever.

And I even checked out the candidate profiles and discussed it with Gini and evaluated them all, and worked out our preferred ones.

    God, I feel so OLD.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Yup. Voted ages ago. Council needs a bit of Gene-O-Kleen around here...

The thing is I have issues if I don't vote ... my dad always said that you can't complain if you don't vote .. cos your vote may have made a difference ... with that in mind I ensure that I vote and in plenty of time .. since we are in Australia at the moment we sent the forms in a week ago ... man parents have a lot to answer for!

I can't vote cause I moved, then enrolled down there, then moved again so can't vote cause I haven't lived here long enough. Even though I lived there for like 5 years... hmmm

And hibiscus coast people... have you noticed the signs are sideways?!

    NO Commercial Airport for Whenuapai

I will as soon as I find out all the candidates who are AGAINST the commercialisation of Whenuapai Aiport (should be on the waag site). Totally self interest I know but we are right under the proposed flight path in Beachhaven, confirmed by the pic in the Herald this morning.
Feel free to join me in stopping it. The old argument that there has always been an airport there doesnt quite stack up when there has been less than one Airforce flight a day for the last 27 years we've lived here!!

Don't know, don't care and none of the buggers do anything for rural. I pay huge rates on my property and pay for all the bloody services.

    Of course I voted!

And of course most of the people who bother to vote in a poll asking "have you voted" are going to have voted... so I'm not exactly representative of the average Aucklander.

If anyone wants to know who to vote for, just send me a PM. I'm happy to advise
