Awesome! I'm waiting for mine to turn up.... Note the expected 10 hours is when used with a cell phone IIRC, not between units... the time between units is reduced.

Yep you will be happy with it, i only have a small chin curtain on my shoei X-11 and performed great up to 130kph, thats the fastest i have gone with it, my partner has a RF 1000.

I have found out Shoei make a whisper kit but it won't fit my helmet so have ordered 2 of these

    http://proline-sports.co.uk/acatalog...jammer_21.html

to try and stop as much wind noise as possible and they will fit any helmet.

Will give a review when i get them.

I would love to know how many hours these actually work for. Some have said 7 hours ... but from other reports I have read, this seems very optimistic, as others have said 5 hours maximum ..... thats quite a difference. That has tended to make me look at "wired in" comms systems, as I want to hear an mp3 player as well, ..... and wear earplugs!

would like to hear how others are managing comms .. bike to bike / rider to pillion ?

Bought one from Richard Smith on Thursday and have ordered a second. It seems to fit well into my scarce Shoei. The trick will be whether or not it works as advertised!

If you want a long battery life solution then the "interphone" is NOT what you want because you cannot plug in an external power source, your best solution is probably a wired variety (ext power etc) that has no limit on operational life.
Ive had my units for some months now and 7 hours is the MAX continuous operation in intercom mode (both units fully charged) and you cannot plug in any other device unless its bluetooth capable (ie bluetooth MP3) In my mind these units have limitations and are only usefull if you specifically want reasonably cheap wireless operation, which was what we wanted. the next unit I get (in a year or so) will no doubt be a Baer, but at a much higher price range.
Edit... BTW Ive never worn earplugs with it, so cant comment, but an important consideration is helmet design as some without lower chin skirts can allow significant wind noise, also open face helmets present a problem, positioning of ear speaker and mic boom also important.. one of my helmets (a flip) has a vent in front by mouth which can be a problem if its left open... For us though this unit works well and sees us through a full days ride, we do not always have it in intercom mode all day, tend to just switch it on as required by myself or Pillion.. but have proven it to 7 hours non stop many times

Yes ... I hope it works well for you. I was going to get one from Cycletreads for $250 installed per helmet. If I knew it would work all day, with earplugs ... it would be a really good buy. However, despite the cost, I'm seriously looking at a Baehr system ....

I guess it's a case of higher price = higher quality. Unfortunately we had a glitch with ours and meant we did the Pauanui trip without them working! They've been fixed now, but I was too sick to go riding on the weekend.

We'll have to wait until next weekend and see if I'm up to riding then before we can tell you how we find them.

If they do last the seven hours or so, it will suit us as we don't ride too far yet. Should be good enough for a weekend away, anyway. While they were working, they seemed to work well, so hopefully they'll be good now.

We get 7 hours out of our blueants and i think you get more if you are just using a mp3 player.

We had a hook up together type intercom and hated the bloody wires and so far we luv the blueant even at 130kph its all good.

Have fitted a windjammer 2 to the helmets and that has cut down alot of noise just got to watch the nose when you take off helmet

Sounds like you are quite sold on the BlueAnt system. Thats cool. And yeah I think no matter what intercom system you use, the helmets make a big difference. I got a Shoei multitech fliptop, which isnt that quiet, but I have stuck the extra bits around the bottom of the helmet, and that helps. Plus .. I always wear a pair of Plugs 4 Lugs earplugs, so noise isn't a real issue. But because of the plugs, I will need a system with good output so I can still hear my pillion at 130K ... or so ....

    Wired earplugs

Would you be coming down to Big Boys Toys in Auckland this weekend? Bring your comms system and we'll see if we can wire it into our custom made earplugs. Check out our website www.earmold.com.au. Cheers Sue

If anyone can bring one of these blueant systems to the BBTs in Auckland, please do so we can check out whether we can accommodate fitting into our earplugs. We are often asked about various systems but need to see the fittings. If you can help, we look forward to seeing you in Hall 4. Cheers Sue, 027 659 1583

    Hi Sue,
I will be there on Sunday, so will come and see you and Grant. I have yet to buy a system, and am still looking at a few. It would be good if someone can bring in a BlueAnt system. I'm sure you could modify it.
    See you there,
    Grant.
