Aaaah how refreshing, KB at its full and revolting worst again.
Way too much fingers pointing, and potting and kettling….
My wish has always been for people to keep quiet and not render a half baked opinion until they know the full and entire story…. And if they do they better make sure the finger they are pointing is squeaky clean, but it never is….
People are way to fast to pass judgement and play judge, jury and executioner in this place.
Drew, I have never seen you pull a mono in front of me… I do not know where you were, who you were with and what the thought processes around safety were when you did it, so let me do a refreshing thing and say, “I presume you were fully under control and knew what you were doing from a safety point of view”
Ceebie, people died yesterday, could you maybe not have left this for another thread? Or another day… some respect would have been good!
It wasn't aimed specifically at Drew but at everybody who claims they were "safe" on the road. The only thing for sure about road riding is that something unexpected will happen sooner or later. There are too many people in denial about the risks of riding on the road. Bad form? Maybe, but it was meant to make people uncomfortable.
SOOOOOO - When a boi racer goes speeding past and just misses you - you don't moan because he would have know it was safe right?
He wouldn't do something like that unless he knew he was in control? Or is your opinion of 'safe' better than his because of some special god given gift?
Again - riding like that has no business on the open road. Its clever and fun I'm sure. I know that I cannot do them. I like watching them - but if I saw you doing them on the road at that speed I'd *555 your ass because I'd think you were being a fucken idiot - and the more of your types off the road the better.
Drew, the very title of your thread suggests you knew that you were out to impress. Why else would anyone pull that kind of stunt alongside two other riders (regardless of their speed) when, as you say, there was bugger all else on the road? Trouble is...my immediate reaction when I saw you in my mirrors was "what if...?" and it was that thought that made me question the
appropriateness of your undoubted riding skills at that time and place.
Yep, hands up I was moving pretty quick - even with Lyn on the back - and like you I felt in total control reading the conditions as were you, but supposing...just supposing I had needed to take avoiding action (including emergency braking) for whatever reason...farm vehicle pulling out...dog...sheep...etc. Quite simply, it doesn't bear thinking about does it? At least I had all rubber on the ground. I value Lyn's life and then my own, If I kill or injure her or myself then that is my call. What i don't value is being snuffed out by the actions of others.
Mate, I'm sure your mastery of motorcycle trickery is admirable, but I'd suggest you do it in a private, safe environment, with a more appreciative audience.

Drew, Tony, Skels and I had a fantastic ride yesterday, the weather was magic, so were the roads. There were no dangerous antics, just the pure pleasure of enjoying the freedom of biking.
I was sorry to hear of our fellow bikers that left us yesterday, it makes a lump in your throat and my thoughts go out to their loved ones.
Ceebie, you probably dont appreciate the skill level of Drews riding, which is understandable as you don't know him. But he would never endanger another rider, and the mono he pulled past you was one of his most 'simple' monouvours. Honestly, if it should happen again, just sit back and enjoy, and if you ask nicely he'll probably even give you some of his more entertaining shows to watch![]()
Me thinks you should read the post above yours - Whilst be might be most fantastic rider in YOUR fanboi world - others dont like it coming up behind them on the open road.
Why should we have to put up with it - little less sit back and enjoy someone riding like a muppet on the open road.
Written by a new rider with a "L" plate - who has had to put up with too many people like this already in my short time of riding!
I'm sure plenty of car drivers feel the same way about people who get on motorcycles in the first place, wheelies or no wheelies, but generally they aren't cheeky enough to try and tell us that we shouldn't be on the road.
I guess you won't be riding with Drew again. That's fine, I doubt he'll cry himself to sleep over it.
If you have a problem with someone's riding, take it up with them in person.

Got a bit of an axe to grind there Tank?
"If life gives you a shit sandwich..." someone please complete this expression
...you know what I meant.
Maybe poor use of English, but I was meaning that I'd have no one else to blame but myself for my own actions. Sadly too many lives are lost because we don't tell ourselves to think ahead.
BTW. Editing a quote from its original form to adjust its meaning is a cheap trick![]()

So - what you are saying is that after 15 years exp - I will know how the newb rider feels when someone comes screaming up behind him popping a wheelie?
Thats good - see because on the times it happen to be - Ill be honest and say that the other riders scared the shit out of me - but as an experienced rider you obv don't mind doing that to others.
Pfft.
