What is it that you don't like about Auckland?

The traffic is a usual complaint, but it becomes meaningless when one is on two wheels.

So, that aside... what don't you like about Auckland?
    Where do I start?
It's too big and sprawling, New York is awesome, you can walk around that city...wouldn't want to do that in Aucks.
The weather, it rains heaps and when its not raining , it's about to.
    It's humid.
It's full of people who have forgotten that they are human, forgotten how to smile.
    The traffic.
    The stress.
    The ethnic demographic.
    Shopping malls.
    Prepay petrol pumps.
    Remuera tractors.
Tui is more expensive than here.
    Motorways.
    Cheesecutters.

Is that enough to be going on with?

Sure there are some nice things about Auckland.
Specifically, the view in your rear view mirrors as you head out of town....
Diarrhoea is hereditary - it runs in your jeans

If my nose was running money, I'd blow it all on you...

If Wgtn is the arse, then the Hutt is the genitals, full of carnt's and pricks, but at least the pricks have balls.

But, I'm sure I read that Welly does rate higher than Auck in the tourist stakes (I could be wrong).

Screw commuting in congested traffic - I'm 8 minutes from home to work down here.

And, it's a well known fact that all the fast bikers come from Welly.

    Rubbish.

Rainfall data from the NIWA website, in fact, shows that over the period from 1971 to 2000, Wellington received slightly more rain (on average, annually) than Auckland.

So... why do you think it rains more in Auckland when it actually... doesn't?

That's pure bollocks. You're just parroting tired old lines about big cities. People are people wherever you go.

To be honest, it strikes me as mean-spirited and pointless to rubbish one town in New Zealand over another. In my experience, when done in seriousness, it's an indicator of a rather unpleasantly smallminded approach to life...

    .
Cause were further south we get bigger drops per rain event. Auckland gets all the drips.

    We'll see.

I'd prefer not to have to descend to digs about inbred hick towns and going native on the reservation, but I can fight dirty if need be.

However, I'd prefer everyone to just share the love about this beautiful country we're lucky enough to live in, instead of sniping in very silly fashion regarding perceived shortcomings of one city versus another.

Auckland and Wellington are only an afternoon's ride apart, fer chrissakes! This is not an L.A. vs NYC argument.

That would mean that Auckland (and rest of the country) would die if we stopped working.

And that we shit all over the South Island.
