    Unhappy A little Trashy waits.

This is by no means a winge thread, Christ knows I'm the luckiest KBer around. Just a little slutted right now.

Monday last week I got the call I've been awaiting for a couple of months. Reputable engine tuner, "All the bits for your motor are in, drop the bike off, I'll need it no longer than a week."

So I mosey on in, drop off the bike, quick chat about exactly what's happening and I'll pick the bike up next Monday (the one just gone). Book today off work to get a feel and a geometry setup for the new tyres (THANKYOU VERY MUCH DUNLOP) I'll be running from here on in at Pukekohe, and also book in for Kiwi Trackdays on Sunday to fine tune bits and pieces under the guidance of Mr Taylor.

So yesterday, the bike's still not finished. Wont be 'till Saturday afternoon EARLIEST, more likely Monday. Christmas Eve? Are you shiiting me?

I gotta be in Wanganui Christmas day for what will be the biggest meeting of my racing career to date. If anything doesn't go right and I can't get the bike Monday, I'm fucked. Probably gonna be fucked anyway riding a bike with more power, no setup time for new tyres notoriously difficult to setup for on a (goat) track I've never ridden on.

    What a fucken laugh.

    Yeah thanks guys.

Gonna be a severly uphill battle Neal. Riding against NZ top racers is tough enough, you don't really need any handicaps. And I'm fucken handicapped on a GOOD day, let alone at the moment.

Blooomin' heck Trashman, that ain't the news I wanted to hear..... Still - look on the bright side, your adrenalin will be pumping from the stress (as will be the guys that are working on the bike) and IT WILL BE READY IN TIME. In the anticlimactic aftermath you will be racing sooooooo hard out and give the BEST performance to date.

But if that doesn't work quite that way - then here is a absolute truckload of good luck to help.....

Well, you're welcome to borrow the GSX1400.

Seriously, though. That sucks. It's never impressive when people you're relying on to do a job on time let you down.

You're better off swiping someone's 600 for Wanganui mate. A 10 let alone a fire breathing rocket is a prick of a thing around the Cemetary course.

Know of any spare K7 engines lying around?? Might be the midnight engine swap then drive to the races without any sleep routine.

Jesus Mate that's rough, I'd lend you my 1340 but you'd have to strap on a couple of nitrous bottles, I'll be at Wanganui on boxing day cheering you on.

Awww bugger - I was going to offer ya' 'The BEAST' but hestitated seeing as it just wouldn't go with ya' helmet and leathers - NOT a good look ..... now I see MT is right - a 600 would be a better way to go..

Oh well - next time maybe... : (tui anyone?)

Don't sweat it too much dude. (assuming you have a bike!!!)
The straights at Wangas are so short the dunlop 'weave' won't have time to set in, Wanganui uses very different suspension settings to anywhere else, so you will be pretty much in the same boat as most (and you have Robert in your corner) The track is short and easy to learn, IMHO. You will have a blast, enjoy.
