9am till 4pm for one day, once a year. Fair enough, I mean the world really will come to an end if they have to put up with noise for 7 hours once a year...minus 1 hour for lunch... Think of the huge drop in property values!!
I'm sure they said it was Classics when I rang- Post Classics would be too quick and it would get pretty hairy.
My daughter telling me like it is:"There is an old man in your face daddy!"
when i was involved there was one wanker up on the hill with a noise meter that complained his arse off every year
I think its a crock of shit that safety is comprimised to that level on the basis of noise, the major hurdle in organisation of the event was permission from businesses on the circut, not residents
but if thats the case, it really needs to be pushed much harder with the local authorities
It IS happening.

Well that would officially qualify as a shit day
Car was loaded up. Trailer loaded up. After far too much pissing about for my liking, we got under way, with the entire family on board- even the cats who were getting dropped off at a cattery. It is important to note at this point that I live at the top of a slope. Off we went, stopping about where it gets flat to get some food from a bakery. As we rolled off again, the car seemed to be having undue difficulty getting rolling. Hmmmm. As we headed into town it became increasingly obvious that all was not well. We eventually stumbled to a halt at a garage. The car was running sweet as a nut in neutral, but as soon as it tried to actually shift some weight, the engine would make about as much power as a Nifty 50. We noticed that the fuel light was on, even though the guage showed just under 1/4 full. So we filled her up. Then when she restarted, it wouldn't idle and couldn't rev. Hmmm. After a couple of minutes of this, it stalled and hasn't gone since.
What to do? So I get on the phone to Dangerous and Rashika, who gave up their day to come and rescue us. MrsB and the kids got a taxi back home, got my little work car, came back, got the cats and dropped them at the cattery. I phoned around and found that as I suspected, the usual garages I use were out of action till about the 7th. Fortunately Armstrong Subaru's service dept are at work on Monday, so it was booked in there. Dangerous and Rashika turned up, and towed the trailer back home- even backed it up the driveway and into the garage. Then they came back, got me, ran me to Repco to get a tow rope, then towed the car around to Armstrongs, who have promised to look at it first thing Monday morning. Finally Dangerous and Rashika ran me home... where all we could offer them was a glass of water and a few biscuits...
So the upshot is- no idea if I will make it to the race meeting. It all depends on just what is wrong with the car. We still have a few days to get this sorted, so fingers crossed it will all work out. HUGE thanks to Dangerous and Rashika for coming to our rescue. We owe you big time for this one! Thank gawd it didn't happen in the middle of nowhere!!

meh it was nothing, you would do it for either of us
I reckon being a bloody Sub it will be a shitty sencer on the gear box... it will cost about 2c but to you $70 and then by the time the engine is hauled out to gat at it... ohhh well lets say you will just have enoughto get to Nelson on Monday just in time to pass sign in... good luck.![]()

It may still be just inside the 3 year warranty we got for it. Fingers crossed!

Well I will NOW
T'was the fuel pump, which fits with the symptoms it had, basically like it was running out of fuel. We should have it back soon. we'll be taking that shiney new tow rope and the 'Road Side Assist' number though. Big thanks to Armstrongs Subaru for getting it all sorted so quickly!

Well, I would have to say that everything was really well organised this year. Racing started at 10:30- half an hour EARLY (), and they were pumping them through smoothly. Everything was going great. But unfortunately the weather and maybe the old red mist visor interviened. It was HOT- too hot for the tar seal, and the track started cutting up. There were some decent crashes in F1 and Motards in round three- from memory I think the Motards race was red flagged twice. It appeared that many riders weren't riding to the conditions (when they change reduce you speeeed
) For safety reasons and because of all the delays they cut the program short and went straight to the King of the Port.
I had a great day- even though I only got one full round in on the Monster (3 races + 1 on the bucket each round). I managed a 7th in the first F3 race which gave me grid 7 for the rest of the day. I was well outclassed in F2 and BEARS- wee Monster 750's have trouble dealing with big bikes..... I managed to beat people who normally leave me behind though, so things were looking good.
Unfortunately when I hopped on the bike for the start of the second round I realised I had no front brakes- the front disc had warped... actually 'dished' would be more accurate, and there was nothing I could do. So I continued on with just the Bucket for the rest of the day. I guess I took out the Bucket class for the day, with two convincing wins....buuuuut there were only two bucketsManaged to beat a fair few Post Classics on it as well.
So yeah, that was my day...not often you go to a race meeting and it ends up being too hot!
A big thanks to the Batchelor clan for letting me move into their pit area, as mine was miles away from the PA system and I never would have known what was happening. Once I was moved in, they made sure I had shade and helped out with my hectic schedule of changing bikes. Bloody top people.
Big thanks also to Buddha#81 for the loan of the all conquering FXR150 #81!
