We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have you found? The same old fears.
    Wish you were here. QWQ

    Gone....

No I am being held captive in Hong Kong airport waiting to fly to Amsterdam! Thank God for the net, I would have to be doing something far more constructive otherwise!

Trubs is that a power surge is all over in a sec......a trickle is much for satisfying

Yep, made sense...even if our respective point of views diverged slightly! But your posts are getting better constructed I might say, so keep it going (and I truly hope you'll understand I am not wanting to sound condescending, just encouraging!).

Nothing will put me off visiting Italy. Both the history and the architecture fascinate me, and don't get me started on the food! It is (I'm told) very much like the South of France which I adore...

    Trickles

Don't get me started on trickles. And from what i hear NZ will have energy problems next winter so power surges will be a definite problem!!

Not really any of my business, but if you're still stuck in the airport and you have a British (or NZ) passport you don't need a visa for HK- only mainland China....was just there so it's kinda fresh in my memory...

    I was thinking the same.

Every time I've been to HK, they just put a '90 day visit' stamp on my NZ passport and let me wander straight on in. No visa required.

If you want to travel outside of the HK 'Special Administrative Zone' and cross the border into Shenzhen and the PRC proper, though, you need a visa. PRC visitor's visas can be purchased at quite a few locations around HK. Any hotel should be able to point you in the right direction.

Each visa has a specific number of entries allowed, ie, you can't just go willy-nilly to and fro across the HK border, so it pays to plan one's visit accordingly. No point wandering over to the Luohu markets to buy a cheap knockoff MP3 player and coming back an hour later, then realising that you have to pay for another entry visa the following week for your 3-day train trip up north, etc.

By the way, if you want to visit China, I recommend travelling by train. You can get trains from HK that travel north to Tibet and back over several days. Cheap as chips.

Take care, Lily, and have a safe trip back to Blighty. And remember, I witnessed the napkin signature, so you can't welsh on that deal.

P.S. You may wish to bring a re-inforced side stand back with you...

Well, babe if you think it's uncomfortable at your age, as you grow older the ability to offend grows more likely every day!

Young people (starting very young) do not think it is acceptable for older people to even think about sex, let alone engage in discussion or debate about it, let alone hold or express an opinion about it.

In my own experience the baggage seems enormous and grows as age increases.

The thought of old people being "active" sexually generally revolts young people too. ( We were young once, it was like that for us too!)

One of the things I enjoy about KB is that it exposes us (perhaps not best phrase choice) to lots of interaction and chatter across all the age groups.

This is something that we in the older age group do not get in our general day to day life in the community.

Out there, young people just clam up, change the subject or move away, it kinda makes you feel like a leper with your little bell ringing out loud!

KB gives us the ability to be with you but when the subject is something we have seen heard or experienced a lot of, it is difficult to remain meekly on the sidelines contributing nothing!

Fear is something I have never been afraid to face but truly I have never faced a fear like that of stepping too far and being branded a "dirty lecherous old bastard" or some such accusation!

There is just no way you can fight back against age but when I am on my bike twisting that throttle and enjoying the rush of speed and agility on the road, all my age related problems just melt away into oblivion and for a few brief moments , I am young again! Cheers John.

If that seems just too much then either enjoy the music or move right along.

I am feeling bit stroppy at the moment but the Eagles are playing, "Get over it" on my theater system, I am listening you know!

A quick googling reveals this page.

Stipulates a 180-day visa-free visit to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region for British citizens with British passports.

I can't believe Immigration won't let you out of the airport...

You are not allowed to leave bags at an airport (airside or landside) supposedly thanks to those nasty terrorists.
