    Anybody ridden a poleski/jet ski?

hey guys, a mates offered me a go on his "poleski" jet ski you stand up on where the bars move up and down....

anything i should know so i don't nail myself on it....

got a life jacket....and balls of steel lol

i gather it must be pretty quick.

    it's a kawasaki 500cc (i think) 2 stroke with a race exhaust.

    pretty quick?

I used to race a 440 Prostock jet ski. The thing'd do around 70mph, I'd love to get back into it. Best piece of advice I can offer is it aint as easy as it looks and resist the urge to race your mates at close quaters untill you've mastered it.

I'm pretty sure that all "Jetskis" are pole skis. The wussy sit-down and ride ones are Personal Water Craft and although bloody fast offer nothing in the way of a challenge to ride. Hence the reason so many plebs hurt each other on them. Any fuckwit can climb on and dial up 100-120 kays.

And any fuckwit can fall off at that speed......... and it hurts as water isn't soft at that speed! Neither is the PWC!

Worse when they hit some poor bugger swiming or in a kayak. For some reason yuppys with SeaDoos think the 5 knots within 200 meters rule doesn't apply to them.

Sort of similar to Motocross bikes on public beaches I guess.

takes a while to learn but they're good fun; the real fun is learning all the tricks.

my brother in law owned a couple and I use to laugh so hard when my dad use to get dragged behind one and just kept turning the throttle... his nads took a right pounding!!

i remember racing a scarab just out of Southampton Harbour and binning at 80miles an hour. That hurt.. so did the swim back to the ski.

have fun bitch.. and remember to wear a vest.

Going to get knee down doing 120 knots around a buoy in shallow water?

Snap quiz hotshot ... what do you do when you've got it pinned to the redline, running low on gas, 30kms from shore, with a bleeding triangular cut and attracting sharks around you and theres a storm about to hit you in five minutes...

    What do you do?
    What do you do hotshot?

(and no, don't ask who Sandra Bullock is playing and whether Dennis Hopper or Keanu Reeves is ... )

70 Mph??? yer right! maybe on the trailer being towed behind the car! They would struggle to hit 70 kmh, even in superstock or mod set up!

Had a new Kawasaki SXR 800cc stand up for a few years back in 2004, might have hit 70kmh, down hill with a tail wind!

650 - 2 stroke, might do 50 kmh if it was healthy! still hard enough to pull ya shoulder out if you do not let go when you fall off!

Holding onto a 1400 cc big bore superstock "runabout" is not wussy, especially at 83 mph! for a 100 mile enduro!
On Time .... In Spec .... On Budget .... Yeah Right!
