Eh? Plug in unformatted USB drive into Windoze box. "this drive isn't farking formatted jimmy. Do ye want tae format it?". How easy is that? Use the Disk Management Plugin if you must.

Obviously I'm running Vista Ultimate Scotsman Edition.

Next time get an Ethernet enclosure for yer drive ya tight git.

You missed the dozen or so blue screens and 3 rebuilds in-between.

Was the reason you couldn't write to the drive was it was formatted NTFS?

Macs won't write to an NTFS drive although they can read one.

I've heard it's a licensing issue (ie Apple won't pay $$$ to MS for right to use) but haven't seen official confirmation of that so who knows.

Everything seems to just work for me regardless - mac, windoze, linux. I must be doing something wrong.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

click on the HD icon then uses "apple and i" keys to get "info" and you can change permisions form read only to "read write"

or just use "disk utility" to Erase disk and format however you like

Yeah, it was formatted as NTFS so a quick re-format did the trick.

easiest way, since most drives are sold for PC use. I bought a Seagate FreeAgentPro drive, and that had some good backup software on it, for PC.. just formatted it, and it's all mine..

Finn, you're not a great ambassador for the Mac community, are ya?!

That's exactly the same drive I bought.

Sorry for letting the team down. I'm not really worthy of a Mac however, I blame JVC for an HD camera that doesn't work with Leopard & QT 7.4. If it did, none of this would have happened.

It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)
