Large chunks of the country are ravaged by drought and Aucklanders are moaning about a little rain taking the head off their lattes.

Be happy if it rains, it will be sunny soon.
Be sad if it's sunny, it will rain soon.

This is NZ after all, the weather can't be stable for a moment.

I've ordered some sun for tomorrow over Welly, hope NZ Post delivers it on time

It's the dills who designed the 'catchment areas' - there's plenty of rain all right - but those fullahs who installed what catches it need a talking too.

Not seen those races - one day - that time was heading for Chch up the steep side - right into it.
About this time of year it was too.

These were both absolutely pumping. Far too wet for cameras that day though.

That's pretty much what I was thinking.

You wanna whine Auckland, then send all that rain to the Waikato... Otherwise you guys ain't gonna have your lattes because there won't be any milk because all the cows will have died.

    Feel better?

Ask anyone in aviation. Radar ONLY breaks down when the weather is shit.
oh your not exactly wrong there
the radar does miss a lot of rain ,it depends on how far away from the actual radar the rain is and depends on what height the rains at .

The only people complaining are the farmers.
If it rains "It's a flood!! - we want compensation".
If the sun comes out - "It's a drought - we want financial assistance!".

Farmers' know the risks from making a living off of the land. Prepare for the future.

When they do learn where the balance is, they make a shitload of loot.

Not all farmers are like that, but they should receive more government support IMHO.

Then again I grew up in a farming community, so I'm a little biased.

But seriously, NZ is a farming country - yes there's money in it, but if the farmers just take shit as it comes, and deal with it, a lot of folk will complain because the prices would fluctuate so wildly. And this government doesn't do fuck all to help anyone unless there's such an uproar they can't hear themselves whine.

no I work on a farm and others ive been on and 99% of farmers only have to see the sun come out and its a mad fucken panic to get irrigation going .

If you get more than 1 inch rain and youd think you need a boat in a hurry

You know what, I only saw somebody questioning why the rain radar wasn't showing the rain that was obviously falling outside?

Point should be made we're not getting enough rain... By rain, he needs a downpour, but a lot of that will run off because the ground's so dry.
