Woe to You Oh Earth and Sea
For the Devil sends the beast with wrath
Because he knows the time is short
Let him who hath understanding
Reckon the number of the beast
For it is a human number
Its number is six hundred and sixty six.

Yep here ya go
404km and 5h 49m.
Probably not tooooo bad if you have a good break just on the other side of the Waipoua forest and recharge the batteries. I'm hoping to at least make it that far with you guys. Could make it up to Kaitaia maybe as well.
To do it yourself:
- Go to maps.google.com.
- Then click "get directions"
- Put in a starting address say "queen st, auckland, nz" and a destination say "kaitaia, nz". That gets you started with the shortest/quickest route.
- Now the fun part. If you put the mouse over the route line you can click and drag it to set a waypoint. For example drag the line over to SH16 then let go. Now it re-plots the route. You can remove way points if you mess them up by right clicking.
- To send your route to someone or post it on KB click on "Link to this page" up the right corner and copy the URL. Handy to save in notepad for later reference too.
If you have a google account you can even save maps
It's not the km that matter it's the time in the saddle. One day to coro loop is very different to doing the coro loop 3 days in a row.
Also, if you do an average of 95km/h 500km will take less time than if you average 75km/h. Some 400km rides will take 8 hours. Others 4.
Google maps takes this into account and works out the time to cover that distance based on how windy the road is. It's a great guide for planning without relying on km.
But all that said if everyone takes care of eachother and have a couple of good rest stops during the day it's quite do-able. I'm probably being a bit of a nana after having someone bin on a ride I organised.
Why'z everyone start to join this tour when I said I'm not going?
MEH! You'll hate me!
If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.
Just whack on a NOS sticker. You'll be right.
