Saw a nice RF900 in Wanaka last Friday, older guy had done 40000mls,had tank bag, panniers full up,and was keeping up with two year old bikes he was with.Had sorted the niggles he had with it and was happy with the beast.

Sounds like a similar tale this guy was on about,he had done the gearbox up,seems the power can be a bit much for the gears etc.But as he said bullet proof package for age of it(10yrs or so).

To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. only reason I'm thinking of selling is just to upgrade to something a bit newer and perhaps italian
had it 9 months, done about 15000km, 2 oil changes and filter so far, replaced chain and sprockets, rear disc, all pads, and in the process of doing the alternator drive bush (which I discovered is a known problem)
goes brilliantly, no complaints with it, power to weight is impressive and I really love the touring range with the 21 litre tank; you get about 280-290km before hitting reserve and then you've got another 80-90 after that....and this is 2-up and I'm not shy with the throttle
has a few marks on the sides where it was knocked over while parked (previous owner) but only minor.... it'll be a few weeks before its on the market but they really are good value for money
edit: if i could keep it AND buy another i'd do it....they're a bloody handy machine
