Considering the damage and grief that is caused by (people under the influence of )alcohol in this country - good on her !!

One of the great things about being a parent is the ability to think you will do everything a certain way and then be aghast when you find yourself doing it exactly the same way your parent(s) did....

I would never have got my hands on alcohol when I was that age had it not been for the good people that bought it for me when they were asked outside piss shops.

I think people forget what it is like to be a young person, or is that just called maturing?

Therefore while I also dont agree with what your co-worker did (and dont think I would do it) I would in most likelyhood be doing something if said girls had consumed the alcohol and no longer appeared "safe" or capable of "taking care of themselves".
The main reason this country is the way it is, Because not enough people stick there noses in....your last paragraph is a typical reaction by New Zealanders on a whole...Lets park the ambulance at the bottom and see how many people we can catch.

I dont agree with busy bodies for small things , But alcohol and even ciggie`s cost this country millions in wasted taxpayers money, and people always say, but it only affects me so sod off......well Im letting you Know as a mild asmatic any smoke or even smoke residue from another driver whos been driving my truck and I can have a mild attack, more of a discomfort but it still affects me even 2 or 3 days later......just like the hundreds of people that are assaulted on thurs, fri, and saturday nights after some drunken bozo smacks them one because hes full of balls and bravado.

So I say good on you and keep it up.
